Both is Good

I think the route I’ve decided to take with this case is the “Both is Good” Option. It has a lot of flexibility, a lot of our most treasured characters, and some good old fashioned weirdness (Plus I look forward to the prospect of “Disguised Bear”.

In case anyone new hasn’t seen the post;

Both is Good:

The Boys end up being hired by C.C. Tinsley, not dead and not disappeared anymore, to work on cases that pop up on his desk. But what happens when those cases almost go wrong, and a certain Ricky Goldsworth seems to have his hand in some parts of the case. Between finding ghosts (Despite Shane not seeing/believing it), kicking Goatman off his bridge, and a rather unsettling encounter with a disguised bear, will our Boys survive this?

However, I have a question for you, lovely viewer. Besides the characters mentioned, what elements of the Buzzfeed Unsolved Lore do you believe are crucial. What aspects would be a great folly to ignore?

What I have so far...

So far, I have that CC.Tinsley gets in touch with the boys, hinting that he’s been working on a case since he disappeared. He needs the boys to help him with the case, but he can’t give too many details.

I fear there are so many ideas I want to touch on this, but I also don’t want this game to get too long, both for my sanity, and because I don’t want to over stuff it or make it boring. Not to mention I’m struggling with whether my ideas are actually any good :P

There will be 1940s inspired aspects, spooky aspects, and aspects of the existing fan lore. I just need to figure out what the actual mystery is. I have decided who our villain is, though I won’t be revealing that. I just need to figure out the actual crime they’ve committed now.

If any of you have any ideas, please let me know.

Hey guys

My motivation has gone down a bit the past couple days, not for the game, but to post on here. I suck at social media, and to be perfectly honest, I’m kind of okay with that. 

That being said, I do owe it to you guys to update at least once in a while.

Everything is going well.

I have stuff designed

the plot is complete

and I will be making a demo out of the first level when it’s done, so I can show it to you all and see what you all think of it to that point. Hopefully having something finished that people can play will help this gain momentum.

All in All, the Buzzfeed Unsolved Game is happening.

Also a few days ago, I posted an update thanking you all for thirty followers. I was a tiny bit early as I got confused between the followERS section and the followING section. My mistake, however I would like to inform you that the post would be accurate now. I have 31 followers, and I’m following 31 people. I consider that a success. Thank you all for standing by me as I do this.

Style and Music

I feel style and music in video games go hand in hand. If you have a retro pixel game, a retro style is probably fitting to go with that. If you have a artsy indie game, something simple yet pretty would be fitting.

What kind of music fits Buzzfeed Unsolved? Should I go for gritty film noir style? Spooky, almost halloween vibes? Both? Neither?

These are the questions I’m faced with now. I have all the tools I need to present to you all a marvellous game, but I need to continue figuring out all the ways I wish to use them.

If you have any advice or opinions on the style you think would work, whether it be art style, game play style, or music genre, your opinions on these matters would be most useful. If you see this post, please comment.

It has been a struggle of mine to determine the best course of action for my blog to reach as many people as possible. I wish this game to become a success, yet I am very new to Tumblr.

Struggles with Tumblr

I am still new to Tumblr, and don’t really understand the functions yet.

I believe I accidentally deleted a message as I responded, but that put the response on my page and I’m unsure if that was okay with the individual. I deleted the post, but now the message was gone. To the person who messaged me, saying halloweenish spooky, yet not scary music fits Buzzfeed, since it is spooky and comedic, thank you for your feed back.
