I’m finally getting around to do this post (hold for the applause 👏🏼 ) I’m currently at 423 ha. I’ve been trying to figure out what to say and what to post about this.. I mean it’s taken me almost a week to finish it. That being said, I think I’m going to take a page out of @burzekbrettsey’s book and share some of my favorite blogs who’ve helped me get to where I am and ones that you should be following too!

@kelly-severide: Nikki! Oh my sweet sunshine. I could go on and on for hours talking about her. You are the definition of a soulmate best friend. She’s been such a supportive person from the very beginning. She doesn’t believe it, but she’s an artist is every aspect of the word. The content she makes continues to blow me away every time something new gets put out. She’s legit one of my favorite people on this planet. I don’t know what I’d do without you. I love you🧡

@loveyourownsmiilee: Juju! Oh lord where do i even start. I swear you are my other half. She has the “oliver sense” that comes into play whenever Oliver posts something and deletes it. I mean she snatches those ig stories like it’s her job! We constantly talk about Oli and Ryan. Those are our boys and no one can say any different. She has one of the most positive blogs out there! She has such a bright, beautiful, and kind soul. I’m so glad we found each other 🤍

@burzekbrettsey: Sky! My bestie. We haven’t known each other for long, but I feel like it’s been ages! You are my favorite person to freak out with over Jay Halstead and his thigh holster. I mean that’s such a beautiful sight! Secondly, you are an AMAZING baker!! Have y’all seen the things she can make?!! When she opens her own bakery later in life I’m going to be her number one supporter! I have a feeling it’s always going to be you, nikki and I against the world. Forever homies 🧁

@matan4il: Alice! First off, if you aren’t following her, you are MISSING OUT! Her stories are everything! Since day one I’ve called her the smut queen and she has never disappointed. Her friendship is something I cherish so much in life. She’s the absolute sweetest. If I’m ever having a bad day, she somehow knows it, and helps talk me through it. I’m so grateful for you! ❤️

@fernnette: Fern! We go WAY back! You’ve seen me at my worst (aka the twitter fandom) and yet you still wanna be friends with me.. I don’t know why, but I’m grateful! I can’t even put into words how awesome you are. I’m so glad you made the discord when you did. I feel we’ve grown closer and we’ve made some amazing friends out of it. You are SUCH A TALENTED WRITER. I’m forever stuck on you and your writings. legit the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of you is #horny-jail. Also, as I’m typing this up you are in the discord writing your ass off and it’s v inspirational. like i wanna hop on over and write some. i can’t wait to see what’s coming up next from you 💛

I love being able to talk all things ryan and eddie with you. Oh and don’t even get me started on the big bird gif! I die of laughter every single time someone is talking eddie/ryan with me and you come in out of nowhere. You are the best! ❣️

💗💗💗💗💗 Crazy little thing called love. 💗💗💗💗💗

There is a lot of things about their relationship that Eddie loves.

He loves the early morning coffee runs after he drops his son off at school and before they head to work together.

He loves the slow, sleepy mornings after a long 24-hour shift when Christopher is at school, and they have time to just be.

He loves the time they get to spend with Christopher, especially the days where Buck makes his son laugh like he’s never heard before.

He loves their dates. Coffee dates, lunch dates, dates just because. Dates with Chris. Dates without Chris. Anytime he gets to spend with Buck he cherishes.

He loves his smile. Buck has different smiles for different situations, he’s quickly come to realize. He has a cocky smile, a shy smile, a bashful one. He has a smile that he uses around Christopher that’s soft and reserved. A smile Eddie’s seen directed at him when Buck thinks no one is watching.

He loves the mornings where Buck makes them pancakes, the days where he uses chocolate chips the best (Buck has definitely caught on, and Eddie makes sure to keep his kitchen stocked with them).

He loves the evenings where they watch movies as a family, all curled up on the couch with a bucket of popcorn between them and whatever movie Christopher chooses for the night.

He loves when they are on shift together, how they can work together seamlessly. How they have each other's backs, even in the most terrifying situations.

He loves how they can communicate without words. How Buck always seems to know when to push and when to not. They don’t always get it right, sure, but even in the times that they don’t, Eddie loves how much Buck cares for him and how much he cares for Buck.

He loves the sex; rough, intimate, the physicality of it... How he feels like he can fully trust Buck, and that Buck trusts him.

He loves that they were friends first and foremost and that their friendship grew into the relationship that they have now. One where they love each other, trust each other, where they can have hard conversations without it ending in a screaming match. It's unlike any relationship that Eddie has ever had, and it feels... healthy. Like it is built on foundations that are rock solid. That would last through earthquakes, tsunamis, and maybe even a few wildfires.

He loves the days like today. He loves the look on Buck’s face when they wake up, soft and sleepy, yet so full of tenderness and warmth. He loves that his curls are disheveled, going in all different directions. He loves the little crease in his cheek from where it was smushed up against the pillow. He loves the kisses they share, even before they brush their teeth. Loves that they can lounge around, watch cartoons with Christopher, make coffee and breakfast together, and do nothing for most of the day.

He loves that there is no pressure and no expectations to get things done around the house. That they’ll get to it eventually... together.

He loves that he gets to look at Buck, memorize all his features. That Buck is his.

“What are you looking at?” Buck asks, a blush creeping up his cheeks. Eddie loves that too.

“How is it that you look even more beautiful than yesterday?” Eddie asks, looking at the love of his life.

“Why are your eyes so red?” Buck asks Eddie, plopping on the couch at the fire station. They’ve had a long day and Buck’s exhausted. Sure, Eddie probably is too but the look on his face says otherwise.

It’s more than just exhaustion. It’s something more... upset. He can’t tell if it’s sadness or anger, and he just wants to fix it. He wants to make whatever Eddie is feeling better, and he’s never sure the right way to go about it without making it worse.

Eddie is... He’s complicated for starters. His emotions are like a minefield and Buck has learned that it’s just better not to ask or say anything. Today, though, Buck feels like he needs to.

“It’s nothing,” Eddie scrunches his nose like he’s trying to will away the tears that are building in his eyes.

“Doesn’t look like nothing,” Buck says, nudging with his elbow. “You know you can tell me anything, right? It’s okay to feel things. It’s okay to be upset.”

“Is that what you think of me,” Eddie says and Buck swears it almost sounds like a snarl. “That I don’t feel things?”

“That’s not what I’m saying,” Buck says, throwing his hands up in defense. “I’m just saying that you don’t have to have it all together all the time.”

Eddie laughs cynically, he looks up at the ceiling and shook his head to himself. “It’s stupid,” he crosses his arms across his chest stubbornly.

“It’s not stupid if it’s bothering you like this,” Buck presses, studying Eddies face. He stays quiet, giving him time to process whatever is going on under that thick skull of his. Eddie hasn’t left the conversation yet or tried to change the subject, which means he’s got something that he’s not quite sure how to say.

“You scared the hell out of me today,” he swallows, sparing a glance back at Buck.

“Hey, I’m okay.”

“Yeah, but what if you weren’t? Hmm? Then what would Chris and I have done? It’s barely been a year since Shannon and you decided to hop under a train car that could have crushed you, all just to save your exes fiance.”

“It didn’t though!” Buck protested but gives Eddie a sympathetic look anyway. “It didn’t. I knew my chances and I took them. I’m fine.”

“What if you weren’t fine, Buck? What if the train car tipped and took you down with it? All because of some stupid promise that you made Abby.”

“That’s not fair--”

“She never treated you fairly, Buck! She left you and barely even said goodbye. You’re so caught up in your feelings for her, and helping her and her fiance that you don’t even stop to consider the people who actually care about you, and how your decisions affect them.”

Buck doesn’t know what to say to that. He’s not even sure where all this is coming from. “I’m sorry, Eddie,” he swallows thickly.

“I love you, Buck, don’t scare me like that again.”

“You what?” He pauses, replaying the sentence over in his head.

“I love you, idiot.”
