I am sending out this message so I can just, generally talk to other iterators! Although I am not sure how far my communications reach pfff.

I am located near the void sea, and underground! My name is Moss, well, the short name. The long name is to formal and I just frankly don't like it. Plus Moss sounds better.

So yes, once and if this does reach someone, I would love to hear back! I'm pretty much always here to talk, I don't have much else to do.

{4TO} Quiet, how's it going!! I'm finally awake, I was really doing my best to get that reset in before the Failsafe kicked in but clearly that didn't work, it took me out like it usually does

{4TO} It's been what, 4, 5 cycles since I last messaged?? Ughh I still feel a bit sluggish, but I'm back now. I actually did better this time than I usually do to! The only thing that needed any urgent repairs this time were parts of my temperature monitoring system, which I mean- right I've been.. you probably don't have much context based on what I've told you, but uhhh I'll just say that just blowing out some thermometers is an improvement

{4TO} Why did I.. right my puppet! I've all but finished my modifications, I think that's what triggered the failsafe to be honest, I must have decided to try and work on it more instead of just going to sleep after I cut comms. All I have left is to tidy up some wiring and we should be good to go! I'd love to get some sort of live feed going or something when I go out so you can be there, maybe you could get one of your overseers here or something

{4TO} Hold on didn't I.. Moss! How is he, have you heard from him? I hope he wasn't too upset I sent those things off to him, he didn't really seem to want the help. Two of my Gatherers are on their way back based on what my overseers have shown me, it looks like the translator wasn't with them, I would guess it decided to stay behind?

{4TO} I saw he left me a message I.. well I haven't opened it yet. the last thing I sent him before disappearing for a number of cycles was quite the long winded message.. I.. I mean he was having a reaction and then I started having a reaction and I.. I mean I don't know what to say now. I mean I spilled my guts then promptly disappeared, why would he want anything to do with me at this point?

<BVQT> Ah yes, the problem. As it exists by itself, I am fairly neutral on it. Frustrated by our apparent lack of knowledge on how to solve it, but otherwise I suppose it sure does exist. I feel as if we should be getting close to the end of it, and others in my group - mainly Feathers - express the same.

<BVQT> As a more psychological thing, however, I can say I see the desperation of the ancients who left their most important problem with groups of children who can never grow, or at least take a few thousand cycles to do so. Children that they horribly mistreated, no less.

weird question, but could we ask, are there different types of rot?

<BVQT> Without the shadow of a doubt.

<BVQT> There are and always have been many types of rot. Even the ones you would find in a single infected iterator can be wildly different.

<BVQT> For instance: mobile; immobile; fertile; infertile; corrosive; 'bubbling'...

<BVQT> In addition. What exactly caused or created the rot will at times change its physical appearance. It appears the most common form will have an 'X' over the center of its... globules? However I have also seen forms with single dots or proper karma symbols, as well as even regular writing. Although the last two are usually intentionally created to look like that by someone attempting to study it - or in theory a malicious outsider of course.

<BVQT> Then there is the "rot" used in alchemy which although distantly related to these failures is not quite the same. Although I do not know very much about it and it is mostly irrelevant here regardless...

<BVQT> I suppose I will simply describe the difference between the 'corrosive' and 'bubbling' rots.

<BVQT> 'Corrosive' rots are not in fact corrosive. I simply had no better word to describe them..

<BVQT> They will consume everything, and rarely breed on surfaces, instead simply splitting apart similar to cells.

<BVQT> While 'bubbling' rots will actively breed and nest inside of the very surfaces that they eat, leaving large 'scars' - literal or figurative - in their wake, which often bear a similar shape to themselves.

<BVQT> Of course corrosive rots do tend to leave marks where they have feasted. But those come more in the form of vaguely circular holes or even massive pits.

<BVQT> If you see an inexplicable bottomless pit in or near the structure of an iterator it most likely has corrosive rot. Likewise if you see odd bubble-shaped formations that seem even slightly unnatural they may have bubbling rot.

<BVQT> It is entirely possible to acquire both forms, or even some I have not researched and have not listed here. However this is relatively rare.

<BVQT> I believe that is all I actively recall.
