ML Opening Is Anime
Full disclosure: I’m not an anime fan. I watch maybe one show a year, and that’s because my husband and/or online friend makes me. Even when I was an anime fan in the late 90s/early 2000s, I still didn’t watch a lot of it. However, even I noticed this in the few shoujo animes I’ve seen.
Thanks to @c0s7um3t3ch for pointing out the bread in mouth trope in the beginning credits and sparking this idea :D
The majority of the opening credits of Miraculous Ladybug is an anime opening, you guys. I’m probably not the first person to notice this....but here we go!
Courtesy of TV Tropes, here’s the rundown:
“Panning up to the sky” and “Close ups on the eyes”
These don’t have trope pages yet, but were in a forum post for “Generic Anime Opening”. This one is a stretch because they’re technically panning up to Mari on the Eiffel Tower, but there’s still sky there...
“The classic image is of someone running down the street with a slice of toast hanging out of their mouth--”
These two are called “Late For School”. You guys know the one.
“--bumping into important people in a manner that gets the plot started.”
(FYI--I could get into a long discussion about why the cat is “important people”, but just go read my post.) This is also the “Cute Clumsy Girl” trope.
Find out what else my addled brain came up with below the cut...
JEMMA WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT!?!!!
Pfffft
I just watched Batu burp a giant bubble that popped into leaves. His face...
Priceless!
I can hear Roland complaining about the Chief Consuls office being a mess...
Disco Sniper is on the case...
[She looks through the crack in the door and shoots a glitter bomb into the back of his head, then shoots another to set of the paintball trap]
Since Leander is nixed...
He can no longer be called a wizard until he's broke the spell.
The Squish Wizard has become Squish. Just Squish.
He is a Squish.
I think me and Leander are even now.
:)
I've scattered his entire personal collection of his precious books and wands from his room to various places around Evermore in hard to reach places.
Now this wouldn't be too bad since Leander can teleport and has some strong telekinetic abilities...
But I've set a trap. The very moment he steps into his room, he will be nixed, completely preventing any and all magic he may plan to use to get his stuff back.
Grisella also enchanted his stuff so the only way they will appear, is if he says the magic word for each one. We've left him a list of ciphers for the magic words we used and linked all the items so that he can only be un-nixed when he returns all the items back to their original place in his room.
Now here's the real kicker...
If he doesn't find them all within three hours, they will remain invisible until twenty four hours have passed.
Poor Squish Wizard is gonna have to run like the wind!
Would you ever write: A mystery based plot?
I would.
Mysteries are cool but I think any mystery I wrote would either be a Scooby Doo level mystery or so vague and nitpicky I'd drive everyone who reads it insane.
There is no in between. >=3
