people think Maddy is being petty or salty that her former bestie got married to her ex but that is not what it screams to me. this is her supposed best friend who lied, went behind her back, not just to fuck her ex but to get with the person WHO FUCKING ABUSED MADDY. this isn’t someone she casually went out with. he choked her, aimed a gun at her, was violent, and gave her gifts and flowers to basically “apologize”. I’m sorry but that wedding scene was not OH MY GOD THAT BITCH TOOK MY MAN. to me, it’s screaming “all these years, she still doesn’t have any remorse for getting with my abusive ex who knew I went through shit with him. here she is, engaged and marrying him while I’m still stuck with all this trauma”. Cassie never gave a fuck how Maddy felt. even said “IM CRAZIER” as if that was something to be proud of.
that’s what it screams out. yes Cassie KNEW. she saw bruises on Maddy even if Maddy snapped so the subject would be changed. Cassie KNEW Maddy was not in a healthy relationship with Nate but here’s the kicker: she doesn’t care because she’s crazier. like this girl is so down with being even crazier and not giving a fuck how her actions affect others
even 5 years later and she still doesn’t give a fuck. waiting 5 years for a fucking apology only so she could get Maddy’s help. I think Maddy is in this thinking “this bitch still hasn’t changed. she still doesn’t have any remorse or guilt” everytime Maddy went after her, Cassie would just run away. that wedding scene isn’t about “omg this fucking bitch got with my ex and is happy about it” it’s kinda grieving this old friendship. idk if Maddy did any soul searching with the time jump. I honestly think she’s thinking how Cassie has not changed at all in the last 5 years. waited five years just so she could get Maddy’s help is diabolical
for me, it’s not that Cassie is dating Maddy’s ex, it’s the fact, Cassie went behind Maddy’s back, knowing Maddy was thinking of getting together with Nate, lying to Maddy and getting with her abusive ex, not feeling any guilt, always running away instead of talking to her, and then marrying her abusive ex. Cassie NEVER apologies until 5 years later. “this bitch waited 5 years to clear her conscience” YEAH RUE YOU GOT RIGHT. I know that’s what Maddy was thinking. Cassie was never Maddy’s friend but Maddy was Cassie’s friend. Maddy NEVER would have done Cassie the way Cassie did Maddy.
