The aims of the festival are to encourage creating laboratories, to bring together artists, scientists and professionals from different sectors into creative clusters, and to promote creative industries, as well as multimedia culture and creative work. CENTRAS festival strives to become one of the most significant multimedia art festivals in the Baltic region, attracting to Lithuania globally famous multimedia art creators and stimulating creative activities and intellectual multimedia consumption in Lithuanian society. The organisers of the festival make great efforts to establish relationship and to ensure successful cooperation with the greatest European digital art festivals, universities, as well as to present various experiences of media artists from different countries.
Attracting much attention from academic youth, representatives of creative industries, susceptive and open-minded working young people, as well as from other social groups, CENTRAS festival has become a representative Kaunas’ festival. Closely collaborating with Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas University of Technology, the best known youth web portal Ore.lt, the festival will be accessible not only in Kaunas (in enclosed and open public spaces in Kaunas city centre), but also – with the help of internet broadcasting – all over the world.
As always, on the 11-18th of April 2012, the organisers of the CENTRAS festival will present to Lithuanian audience a professional and thorough review of multimedia art, including special guests from Lithuania, Portugal, Great Britain, Italy, Rumunia, Germany, Estonia, Belorussia, Greece, etc. We kindly invite you to enjoy the festival!
