screw it--

*banging pots and pans* alright everyone still left in this fandom i present to thee a 2 part ghostboo fic i wrote right after prison break. this had been barely edited since and has definitely been wrecked by canon but whatever i still predicted stuff. (note: i am no longer really in this fandom anymore? I just liked how i wrote this over a year ago so)

cw: Death mention, kidnapping mention, deadnaming in the most literal sense but they don't really care. i think disassociation sort of counts here.

Ranboo was buried in the grass patch where he died. It was too close to the water than they would have ever liked. Morbid humour, Boo guesses. Maybe they didn't want to touch his body. Or perhaps because they didn't know their final wishes. Whatever the reason, it's at least better than Wilbur's. Nothing but a memorial to his ruined country.

Boo stands over Ranboo's grave. It's decorated in faded, dying flowers, carved from obsidian and blackstone, etched in the scrawling words of Ender long after it was placed here.

Boo floats towards the smooth rock-face and places an allium on the decorated headstone apathetically, too far in his own head. Boo doesn't even flinch when Sam begins speaking behind him.

"Ranboo, you -- you should go home. Come on, I'll take you to Tubbo so you can rest." Sam lightly places a hand on Boo's shoulder.

Boo brushes him off.

"No, Sam." Boo sighs. "This... this isn't finished."

"What?"

Boo sighs and looks at his hands.

"Sam, when I died, I was happy. I could remember everything and it was great. But Sam, I don't want to be here - be a ghost - If I can't feel anything -- if I can't feel anything for Tubbo. I couldn't feel anything when you took Michael. I can't even feel angry about it. I know I used to care about them -- I remember what caring for them felt like. I remember HOW to show I care for them.. But actually caring; it's all gone. It's all... grey.

Sam tries to hide a guilty expression behind the mask. "Ranboo, let's just go-"

Boo glares, making the warden step back.

"THEY had a family. He had a family that loved them -- that HE loved, Sam. Now he- I-" Boo stutters a hushed correction, looking to the headstone.

"I'm dead, here. I'm the only one that visits my grave. Tubbo is too busy watching over Michael after he..."

Boo glances at the thick white bandages that cover most of Sam's chest.

"And -- and Tommy is on the run from Dream still; GOD knows where he is." Boo looks across the water past the prison, a hand hovering over the slit in his cloak.

"But I had a family, Sam. And you killed me, used me as a hostage. You killed Ranboo to everyone who loved him."

"I-- I had to, Ranboo. Dream was-"

"Dream didn't care, Sam. He and Techno were adamant about that. He wouldn't care if I lived or died."

"Well you were trying to-"

"Escape?" Boo laughed dryly, "was I WRONG to escape, Sam?"

"I'm sorry Ranboo. I had no choice. I had to do SOMETHING. You tried to break out. You knew what would happen -- the contract you signed? If I had know you were.... If I had known, I wouldn't have done it."

"You promised me." Boo picks up another allium, inspecting it before setting it onto the grave. "You told me there was no reason I could give that would make you put me in that prison. That you wouldn't kill me-"

"Ranboo! What's with this? There's nothing I could possibly do now, so what do you want from me?" Sam snaps.

Boo stares at Sam in the edges of his vision.

"What do you think."

Sam pales. "We- we haven't been able to catch him, R-"

"Its fine." Boo interrupts, moving from the headstone as he pulls out his axe. "I can do it by myself."

Sam jumps and lurches forward to grab him by the shoulder, sharp fingers digging into the empty cloak. "Ranboo you can't go after him! You don't know what he will do to you! You don't... you don't need it." Sam finishes softly.

"I know that THEY need it." Boo points to Ranboo's grave. "I know the whole SERVER needs it."

Sam glances between Boo and their grave. "We don't know where Dream is, it's been a long time. There's got to be another way for you-"

"No, Sam. I know you're still afraid of him. Ranboo was afraid of him. You think that if anyone gets close to him, they'll end up like me.

"Most of these people used to trust him. They were friends, brothers -- family. You don't want them to experience the pain of being killed by someone they had once trusted." Boo says pointedly.

"I told you-"

"Everything you've told me has been a lie, Sam. You said you wouldn't hurt me, but I have YOU to blame for the pain in my chest." Boo clutches the front of his cloak, not breaking eye contact.

"No -- no-" Sam stutters at the accusation.

"If you won't go, I will. I need to avenge the soul YOU killed."

"No, Boo! Doing this won't help you. Killing him won't suddenly give you the ability to care." Sam holds a hand over Boo's chest.

Boo looks at his axe and laughs quietly. "I'm not doing this to learn to care. I don't need that for this one. No, this- this is finishing what I started a long time ago.

"It's time I picked a side, Sam. Make a proper change on this server. My death meant nothing to them. But HIS will." Boo states as a fact.

Sam takes a deep breath. "Ranboo. This isn't... this isn't the way."

"How many people need to die for this to be the way? How many times does he need to kill Tommy for you to take action? Ranboo wasted his life in fear of Dream. But when everyone sees his body in the sand like mine was, this server will be peaceful again. I can move on. Whether you help me or not, I'm going, Sam."

Boo dissappears, leaving Sam at the grave of one of the few people he was sworn to protect.

He gently kneels in the still loose dirt, placing a faded flower at the base of the stone. Sam looks to Snowchester and sighs before limping back to his destroyed base.

if sam hadnt been corrupted by power and grief and let quackity torture dream in prison dream probably wouldn’t have taken ghostbur hostage and revived him so he could leave. like, mans let quackity go in there with a netherite axe &sword, and shears, but the minute tommy tries to do the same? he screams at him to shut up and that everything is his fault like damn bro u rlly gonna blame it all on a traumatized teen and not ur shitty prison security? SOMEONE COULD EASILY GET IN THERE WITH INVIS BRU---

Meaning that they knew the dangers and repercussions of their actions.

Sam was simply doing what he had to, albeit a bit harshly, make sure that dream was kept in the prison and everything

Las Nevadas Episode Two Recap and Analysis Post (Part 1 of 2 - Intro and Chapter 1)

Okay. So, throughout this post I am rewatching the entire stream. I’ll probably be back with an appreciation post at some point as well. This will mostly be in chronological order.

The Intro.

To begin the stream we have presumably Quackity and two other figures dressed in dark cloaks traveling through the SMP until Eret’s Castle. I would assume the two figures are working with Quackity on Las Nevadas. So, the range of characters these other two characters could be narrows. My best guesses would be Sam and Fundy. Fundy’s most recent lore stream revealed these cloacked beings and ended with Quackity’s smile. Sam is also another likely character with his character having the longest connection to Las Nevadas. I am eliminating the possibility of any members of the Eggpire for the reason they view Quackity as a threat. I am also eliminating any member of Kinoko Kingdom (Karl, George, Sapnap, + Foolish) since later in the stream c!Quackity doesn’t know about the existence or the creation of Kinoko Kingdom and by who.

Quackity has also confirmed his character has definitely been traveling every day, for at least 29 days so far, to the prison to torture Dream. Based on the movements of Dream within the prison it looks like Quackity has made Dream consistently scared of his visits through his torture by any means necessary including the use of potatoes.

72 Hours Before the Prison Visit.

To be clear, Chapters One and Two are both in the past. Chapter 3 does not explicitly state when it takes place but I assume less then 48 before Quackity’s first Prison Visit. At the time, c!Tommy is dead at the moment. While both Quackity and Sam are grieving.

Chapter One begins with Quackity boating to Sam’s Sanctuary. Sam has created this place as an escape. Sam’s Sanctuary includes nods to c!Tommy including a Grave with a Music Disc, a wheat/carrot farm reminiscent of Tommy’s farms at his dirt home, and a bench overlooking the ocean. Sam continues to blame himself for Tommy’s death while Quackity throughout the episode states otherwise and places all the blame on c!Dream.

Sam firmly believes he could have done something to save Tommy and Quackity uses this to persuade Sam to the point of traveling to the prison to kill c!Dream. Sam reveals a hidden room behind a bookshelf within his Sanctuary with all of the Warden’s gear. Quackity and Sam head to the prison by boat. Sam is willingly to kill Dream “a thousand times for the one death Dream caused Tommy.”

Quackity and Sam arrive at the prison and enter. Sam stops and backs out of killing c!Dream. Quackity and Sam begin to argue about what Tommy would have wanted, either killingly Dream or leaving him imprisoned.

Sam and Quackity both agree to not kill Dream for now. Quackity states if someone or Sam does not teach Dream a lesson...Quackity will (foreshadowing his future torture of Dream.)

Quackity ends Chapter One explaining two things to Sam. Firstly, Sam is not to blame for Tommy’s death and purely Dream. Secondly, emotions and personal connection is not welcomed into the ruthless business in Las Nevadas.
