Thinking about the fact that despite all of the terrible things c!Dream has done, the blame always falls on him alone. He doesn’t work alone, even if it might look like it, but the blame isn’t shared.

c!Ranboo has no memories of working with Dream. c!Punz faked a betrayal, so as far as the server knows he’s washed his hands of Dream. Even the viewers had no idea that c!Bad could be on Dream’s side.

But they’re all either perfectly set up to be forgiven, completely out of sight, or a bit of both. Dream has allies, but no one knows that. No one else takes the blame but Dream. And to an extent, that’s useful; it makes his reputation as a potential threat even more powerful, it keeps his allies from being caught and taken out.

I can’t help but wonder if that’s the only reason. If maybe c!Dream keeps his allies so secretive is in case things go south, in case the plan fails or he’s taken out, everyone else has an alibi. Maybe a part of the reason he keeps the few loyal to him so hidden is because he doesn’t want anything to happen to what few attachments he still holds onto

Low key think the only thing that c!dream wants is to torment c!tommy. He doesn’t give a fuck about anything else at this point. I mean he was like threatening c!sapnap but probably isn’t going to carry through because he literally only wants to mess with Tommy!? Like why is he so sadistically obsessed with this kid?? Before the prison dream wanted to kill everyone and everything Tommy loved; and possibly lock him up in the prison he began building right after he “exiled” (kidnapped) Tommy. Then after he was in the prison for so fucking long supposedly getting better, the first chance he gets to traumatize tommy again, he does. He beats him to death. He killed a child. Then he simply revived him so he could fuck with him again. Oh and can’t forget that the FIRST THING HE DOES WHEN HE GETS OUT? Goes to EXILE AND CHASES TOMMY DOWN BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF HIM FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES. So yeah Dream doesn’t want power he doesn’t want to control the server he doesn’t give a shit about sapnap or George :( (he used to before he got so obsessed to the point of psychotic break???) he literally doesn’t give a shit about anything EXCEPT FOR TOMMY. Dream apologists fuck off he clearly is evil.

C!Dream told most of his visitors he was getting better, before Tommy’s last visit, keep in mind this is PRIOR to Quackity’s “visits.”

Before the torture, c!dream killed and revived c!tommy. With the main fascination in wondering what it was like, how painful it was, what was beyond death?

C!Tommy was a fucking test rat to C!dream, he’s a toy.

So I’d assume that since in the past c!dream has often left c!sapnap and c!george to do whatever while he goes and torments the children, that he might not be wanting to carry through with whatever he was threatening to do to kinoko.

He planted a horrific mind fuck in c!Tommys basement. Made him think c!phil was in trouble. Made him lose his shit again.

No sign of harm to Kinoko.

So if anyone’s reaching for character arcs, it’s people trying to find the good in any of this.
