c!dream after prison, staying at c!techno's cabin, and he's sick - lack of food for a year and being tortured will practically kill your immune system - but it's dream so of course he's insisting he's fine. he's taken four regen potions in about as many hours and has only eaten golden apples and was up all night coughing so he's gotten maybe three hours of sleep. which he says is fine, techno, he doesn't sleep anyway.
and techno is watching as the second wind of dream's body going 'oh no we're not getting any sleep time to ramp it up' combined with the potion after-effects is making him pace back and forth ranting about uses for slime blocks and tridents and he keeps wiping his nose on his sleeve which is really gross, okay, dream, but keep goin' man, what's that about the relative damage durin' trident flight?
i always liked the idea of intertwining previous SMPs and such to give more depth. my cwil's unfortunately been through quite a lot.
a bit of my (extended universe) hcs are below the cut :
i have a general idea of his age throughout this spread. i believe smplive era is 19-21. 5x5, minecraft but, and smpearth i think spans across his 20s. i think entering dsmp, he was 32. due to time spent in limbo, post-revival he sits at 45 (mentally).
he was raised by cphil and ctechno, however they weren't incredibly consistent or the most responsible guardians. they absolutely loved him and they were fun, but i do not think they were always around nor do i think they had a proper grasp on what is and isn't okay for a kid. i think this upbringing is part of why as a grownass man, cwil doesn't see his expectations, treatment, etc of ctommy and ctubbo as irresponsible, unfair, etc. he unfortunately absolutely did not break the cycle at all.
he is transmasc - he came out in his teens. he actually named himself wilbur wanting a name that felt closer to ctechno, who he admired growing up. i think current era (at 45) he's more able to explore gender as a whole however, while i think for most of his life he was much more rigid about it.
his wings and horns both grew with him as he got older - which is standard for aetherian hybrids. during pogtopia when he was at his lowest and most neglecting his needs, his wings began to gray and "wither" due to mistreatment. during november 16th, his wings caught fire during the button press. post revival, his wings are much smaller and torn up. one of his horns also sustained damage too.
i do like the idea that ctubbo is infact his "adoptive brother" - sort of , but in a way where this has no proper imposing on his story or ctubbo's (if that makes sense.) i think cphil took ctubs in briefly and cwil knew nothing about it. there's an odd disconnect between them when they meet because they know there's connections they share, but they cant figure each other out. i think cwil fondly thinks ctubs is kind of like him - i believe ctubbo doesnt know this, and if he did, he wouldn't quite agree.
he was childhood best friends with cschlatt and cconnor. he enjoyed messing with them often throughout their time on smplive.
my cwil also experienced the skyblock randomizer in his backstory and the sky gods fucking HATE him. i think he and cschlatt experiencing their various challenges were sky god related punishments that cwil dragged cschlatt down into with him. i think this back and forth with the sky gods also builds onto his confusing and complicated relationship and opinion of gods as a whole - aside from the other obvious elephants in the room.
this one was always really important to me for a lot of reasons - cwilbur was also ctommy's dad. i think he had ctoms far too young to feel comfortable or mentally alright raising him, and so he didnt keep guardianship. i also think when ctommy showed up and began following him around during peak business bay, he had no fucking clue what to make of it or what the odds were. i dont think he told ctommy, i dont think he ever will - i think he pretends it just didnt happen, while other times struggling with that fact. i do not think he is a good father and i think in his mind he justifies it by repeatedly telling himself he "really isn't tommy's dad though even if he technically is." he loves ctoms so very much but he just is not a good guardian figure nor is he really necessarily trying to be. he'd much rather be "the cool idolized heroic mentor" or something to ctommy.
i think because of what was previously mentioned with ctommy and how cwilbur has aged, when cfundy comes along he ends up being a helicopter parent - to the point however of not even really seeing cfundy or understanding what cfundy actually wants. of course, this is horribly unfair to cfundy but in cwilbur's emotional immaturity he takes cfundy's frustration with this personally and rather than being the adult in the situation, decides there are simply "barriers between them" and things he must accept they'll just "never quite get about each other." cwilbur is heartbroken about this, but notice how he's making it about him and not quite making an effort to listen and understand. he loves cfundy so much but he's choosing a "self punishment" and such over his boy.
additional relationship thoughts - i think cwil and cschlatt had an incredibly complicated and sort of unhealthy best friendship mixed with situationship. when it was good it was good, when it was bad it was bad. i think the smplive reunion argument marks when they officially decided " im never seeing that guy again." (and then of course, they saw that guy again) i think he and ceret had a unique talking stage (?) he refuses to acknowledge ever (which made the betrayal fuck with his trust issues and paranoia terribly - aside from of course how it already would've) and he and cniki were in a qpr.
post revival, some of the more wounded parts of his body were replaced with ghostbur's. the most notable example of this is in his face. fun fact - despite his best efforts, you can often get a better read on him if you pay attention to his ghostbur eye. it wears its heart on its sleeve - even weeps sometimes. (this also means poor ghostbur in limbo has some of the injured revivebur parts.)
post revival, the biggest wound - being his stab wound - never quite heals, hence his bandages. he "ignores" it initially, but when he's entering his self reflection period, he begins to tend to it more carefully.
there's lots but thats what i remember for now! for the past several years i've kept this stuff in mind when im working on stuff for him!
Completely random headcanon, c!Sam killed c!Ranboo by snapping his neck. Anybody can stab someone with a sword, that's nothing special. But you'd need to exert a huge amount of strength to actually snap somebody's neck movie style.
The mental image of this huge, armored warden seizing Ranboo and violently snapping his head to side, Ranboo just suddenly going completely limp and tumbling to the ground, is so dark I love it. Really makes Sam seem even more terrifying than he already is.
