So I decided to be mean to one of my wonderful blorbos (c!Sam) and figure out how long it would’ve taken him to starve to death if he hadn’t been found in the cell by c!Dream.

I tested this out by timing how long it took for me to die in MC on hard mode just from starvation. Now, keep in mind I consistently ran and jumped around in the cell while doing this, and c!Sam would’ve wanted to conserve his hunger as much as possible, meaning it would be longer. However, it took me about 9 minutes and 24 seconds to die from starvation, which is almost the entire daytime in MC.

Now, I then have to multiply this by 3, since he has 3 lives. This then results in a total of 27 minutes and 72 seconds, so rounding up to roughly 28 minutes. I then divided this by 20, since a full day-and-night cycle in MC is 20 minutes, and that equals to 1.3 days. Now, this is the calculation for the bare minimum: if he was sprinting and jumping the whole time, which he clearly wouldn’t. So his death would be much more prolonged, possibly stretching to 2 or even 3 days.

This is why I felt so disgusted by c!Revengers. The fact that what c!Dream did was technically a better fate than staying in the cell is just... it feels vile, in my opinion. They left him to starve in a cell, while ignoring the fact that a much more threatening criminal had just recently escaped, and that one of their team members was the reason for this person’s escape in the first place! I get it, Tubbo was pissed because he lost his husband and his son was kidnapped, but jfc no one deserves to starve to death in a cell while people just shrug it off.

- Put sam in prison

- Said he's sorry he didn't have the courage to die for his ideals

- Said he saw Tubbo as a power hungry dictator

There is over a year of evidence that it is not the case c!Techno thought this way what in fuck changed and why.

Thinking back on the revengers stream and boy am I salty. (I am gonna be mean about the c!oink oink so scroll past) 

On one hand we all had hopes, and god it could have been everything but like- I WISH I could just avoid techno lore but when he’s so determined to be in my fav’s stories, it’s just a pain. Like that’s such a emerald duo specific problem.

 Like if you don’t want awesamdude lore, that’s fine, it doesn’t change a lot of other’s POV, instead explaining stuff about him. Same goes with ponk! if you’re not a fan of their lore (idk why but hypotetics) you can ignore their story. That was one fo the strenghts of season 1 imo, even if you don’t care about certain character, the main plot is still followable, you can ignore what you don’t want in your consuption and not miss on the more important part of the story. 

But with techno?? He will be in the center of the plot whether you like it or not and that’s all there will be of him. Any solo part is him being ooc which, sure, makes for some light hearted comedy and a cool inclusion, but story wise that means that this pig is never challenging his thoughts, we can NEVER get an insight to how he thinks. There are CRUMBS of development and insight, like when he passes the safe heaven and states “I wish something like that existed”, but compared to all the waffling we got that’s not enough. That’s not enough.

And like the thing is I don’t know why I even got my hopes up. Every single scene with techno is written like piss. The story keep bending over backwards just so Techno doesn’t appear an antagonist to anyone. Not even the people he actively wronged multiple times. At this point it’s just hilarious how much retcon they had to do to avoid conflict like seriously-

The worst part is those rewrites are only present when techno has to interact with those characters! like Tubbo is still traumatized by his execution and has been rendered self sacrificial to a worrying degree because of everything he lost. Lost BECAUSE OF techno, yet because a stream requires them to team up, and because for some reason we’re not allowed to have conflict in a techno stream, tubbo is fine with him except for a brief moment. But this stream is over and tubbo is back to being this scarred, broken yet unmovable character. It just keeps happening, and I don’t see the appeal. Sure, if you want a sitcom, you’ll be served, but the dsmp, despite all its hilarious moments, is still a story with heavy themes. 

And then there’s the whole Eret redemption part which I’ll express very simply: Eret’s crimes are fucking NOTHING in comparaison to Techno’s. And that’s without touching on their motives. Eret’s biggest crime is the betrayal of L’manberg during the war for independance. And their path towards redemption and regret is not only far more compelling that anything c!techno has done, but also shows a development and a character growth that I can only applaud. 

And not only DID techno betray l’manberg too (on nov 16th) (so by that logic alone he should be held as accountable as Eret still is) BUT he destroyed the land a second time, ACTIVELY helping Dream, broke him out of prison, executed Tubbo under Schlatt’s commands,  and that’s just at the top of my head. So why can he get off scott free? Meta wise, because they have written it so c!techno cannot have a conflict where he’s even partially in the wrong. 

But the thing is he IS in the wrong. So it’s time the story aknowledges it.

Hot take: c!Techno is bad. I'm not an apologist for anyone and I don't hate c!Techno or cc!Techno with a burning passion, but he's not a good person, (setting aside all the blood god and killing stuff). He's a hypocrite.

And c!Phil isn't a good person either. He says he was made to kill his son, but at the end of the day, that was a choice he made. He could have threw the sword to the side.

valid. c!techno has mmmm questionable morals to say the least, and he's indeed not a good person. same for c!phil. i remember at one point i read this really good analysis on c!phil and on him not knowing c!wilbur was on his last life, but i don't remember from who it was. if i find it again i'll make sure to reblog it

at one point i was a dying c!techno apologist but i've evolved. i am critical of everyone except c!tubbo now

like the cc was defending he like very valid takes last week. There is so much shit showing that it isn't the case that he thinks they should keep prisons, that he should die for his ideals when he doesn't have to and that he saw Tubbo as a dicator

I'm guessin it was necessary for plot stuff, and yeah we got some lampshadin, but it still really wasn't great. Like, I cannae defend Techno on this one. Guess i gotta root for Sam out as well
