@misunderstoodcreatures gets a semi plotted starter, hahaha
Conner Aimsworth was honestly a good guy. Always held the doors open for everyone, had a good moral compass, and tried to have as much compassion as possible for everyone, which was why he’d gone into teaching in the first place. Gotten his degree, started teaching history at the local high school, and then he branched off into other areas of expertise and got a job as a professor at the university he was currently at. Things had been fantastic, until Wanda had shown up in his life. A student of all things. His student.
She was older than all the other Sophomores--even older than some Seniors--which was fine and all, but there was still this breach of conduct if you so much as looked at a student the way he sometimes glanced at her when she was busy writing things. Taking notes, or doing a test...and Heaven forbid when he saw her outside of class and said ‘hello’. She was beautiful, and intelligent, and talented--and off limits. Still, that never seemed to stop him from saying ‘hi’ when he did see her, like now while she was clearly using the coffee shop on campus to study and yet he couldn’t seem to help himself. He was both proud and guilty all at once.
“I swear I always see you working,” he told her as he approached her table, his cup of coffee already in hand and a smile on his face. “Don’t you ever go to parties or something?” Then he wouldn’t get to see her this much, however, and that would be a tragedy.
