waving a hand at her, roy let out a soft huff as he finally managed to tear his attention away from the newest gadget he was working on. leave it to artemis of all people to get his attention by biting him. he’d have to make a mental note not to zone out again whenever they were together or risk her wrath all over. “swear jar,” he grumbled instead, pointing a free finger at the jar on the counter that was almost to the point of being overfilled. it wasn’t like lian hadn’t heard worse being around him and jade, but he was at least trying to set a good example for his daughter. “hey, hey i was just focusing on this. i’m not always a bad listener.” before responding to the ice cream mention, his gaze dropped down to lian who, of course, was pulling the puppy dog eyes currently. “aw, shi – okay, okay we can go get ice cream. i’ll come with. i can’t deny my little sunshine.”
Artemis glanced over at the swear jar, rolling her eyes. “C’mon, Roy, dumbass isn’t a swear... It’s just an insult.” Lian gave her a stern look, and Artemis raised her hands in surrender. “Alright, alright,” she agreed, reaching into her back pocket to pull out a couple of dollar bills, shoving them into the jar. Anything for Lian. “You look just like Jade when you scowl.” Moving over to where Roy was tinkering with something, she peaked over his shoulder at it. “What are you making?” she asked, curious about whether it was something for one of the team. “Mm, I suppose you’re alright,” she teased, ruffling his hair with her hand. “See, Lian? I knew we could do it,” she said, sticking her tongue out at the little girl. “Let’s go, I want some rocky road.”
