Doris always has to be touching Dante somehow when they are sleeping next to one another. Whether it is just their legs tangled together or her back pressed against him or a hand laying against his chest, it is like even in her sleep she just wants nothing more than to be a part of him.

Dante makes Doris a cleaner person, and she pays attention to the messes she makes. She always is the messier person, but she is better than she once was because of him.

When they rarely argue it is explosive and loud, but doesn’t last long. Neither can stand to see the other hurt, and the arguments are over with them both apologizing before they even know it.

Falling into You || Dante & Doris

“Mum, what is it you wanted?” Doris said as she stood from the table they had decided to inhabit for their meeting at the coffee shop in Diagon Alley. After she was hurt Doris didn’t want to meet her parents at their home, or her own. It was too dangerous to her to let them get caught in the crossfire. Her mother made a face of contemplation as she looked at the board hanging behind the counter, the array of names for the drinks ranging from magical to almost muggle. At her mother’s request, she would pick for her, but as Doris turned from the table to get in line she looked up at the board, trying to figure out what best her mother would like. Before she could stop herself she crashed into someone. Taking a step back in surprise at the collision, she looked up. Her smile fell off her face, and her apology caught in her throat before it could escape.

Doris was falling apart. Her hands shook when she poured her tea, and for the first time in her life she didn’t answer the door when someone knocked. She shut herself in her apartment. Nothing was okay.

She piled blankets high on her bed, crawling into them to shelter herself from the reality of the pain. Her body might not have been broken but her heart was, and nothing could stop the tears that fell down her face.

Doris didn’t want to do anything. She ate to keep herself alive, and drank herself to sleep the nights that she did get to blissfully escape her own thoughts. The only problem she had to face was the raging headaches that echoed the pain of her morning realization.
