Halloween 1976
Naomi McKinnon as the Swan Princess from Swan Lake
âYou make it sound like you donât like my costume.â
justfawley:
A small chuckle of relief escaped his lips. âYou said it, not me,â he teased her. In all honesty he didnât think she was that terribly rowdy. He had only seen the worst of her troublemaking from a distance & it was really nothing compared to some of the delinquents he had to reprimand first hand.Â
âRight now, right now?â he asked with raised eyebrows before shifting into a look of amusement. âI mean, if there is anything you can teach me here & now.â
âNow youâve really peaked my interest. I may just have to take you up on that offer. I do enjoy a good story.â
Naomi stuck her tongue out at Fawley before a light laugh passed through her lips. âYeah, yeah yeah.â
âRight now, right now,â She repeated. âLook straight at me. Oh wait--Donât move. I have to get a couple things.â Naomi held up her hand with a single finger in the air, asking Fawley to wait just a moment. She walked around the room, picking up miscellaneous items and handing them to him. As she did, she pick pocketed some of the things that she could. One of which was his wand. âThank you for holding those,â she finally said, settling a pan on the table beside them, gesturing for him to do them same. Then she paused, waiting for a moment to see if he would notice anything missing.
âAt eight years old, I built this fort for me and Marlene. We lived in it, and any time that we could, we would play games and read in it. Our mother hated the thing. We would move it from room to room sometimes so she wouldnât find us, and once we threw a bunch of things out the window so that we could make the fort outside. That was at age eight, and the mischief probably started the most around then.â
amycus-cxrrow:
Amycus only had time to smirk before lips closed over his. He grinned into the kiss and pulled Naomi closer to deepen it. It wasnât how he expected his day to go, but this he could handle and thoroughly enjoy it.
Naomi let it last for what she felt was long enough, surged with the adrenaline that kissing someone sent through her body. She had moved her hand to the side of his face, and left it there as she pulled just a little bit away. They were still breathing the same air, close enough that they could move back in in a moments time. âCarrow, I do think we should be doing that more often.â
lovemenott:
âI have tried, at least! Given, I normally try every year. The better things go in the beginning, the easier they will be throughout.â So far, that philosophy had always worked for her. Plus, it helped that she had a lot of friends, all with the own unique talents, that were always there for her. Naomi, included.Â
âTruer words have never been spoken.â Naomi nodded. She had found that it was easy to be organized, prepped and assertive at the beginning of the year, and that the rest of the year would fall into place behind it. âYouâre a smart one, Nott. I donât know how Ravenclaw didnât get you.â
ofnarcissasblack:
âNo. I think if youâre going to have it, it has to be good chocolate, the rich dark kind. Not the cheap kind you only buy for the cards.â She shrugged. âWell, consider me the exception to that rule, then.â
âWell if that is the only way you will have it, then have fun with your snooty chocolate.âNaomi rolled her eyes.âIs that your taste in men too: rich, dark and brooding?âÂ
eriszabini:
âWell thatâs kind of a no brainer.â
"She is kind of a âno brainerâ.â
"Anyway, how was your summer?"
amycus-cxrrow:
âHow generous,â he smirked stepping towards her as well, close enough that there was barely an inch between them, though he made sure to give her enough room to back out if she wanted to, âand since youâre being so kind, Iâll let you take charge.â
âOh, how generous of you,â Naomi muttered, glancing from Amycusâs lips back to his eyes. She bit her own for a moment before closing the gap between them. It felt reckless, kissing Amycus like that, and it had been a while since she had done something reckless. Naomi had missed it.
daringheart:
âI do think youâre funny,â he agreed with a small nod, âItâs just usually when youâre not trying to be funny.â He shrugged lightly, his voice teasing, âMaybe but Iâve got a reputation to uphold.â
âAt least I am funny at some point. Did you hear what happened to McGonagall on the fourth floor? Merlin, now that was some brilliance on my part, even if it wasnât intended for her.â She laughed at the thought of the situation.Â
âDonât worry, your dark and brooding reputation will still be upheld if I flirt with you, Zabini.â
callmeregulus:
Regulus wasnât sure how to answer that. The honest answer would have been yes, but he knew what that would sound like. And he didnât approve of lying. âThey are somewhat strict,â he admitted, âbut thatâs because they have certain expectations of me.â
âYou should stop thinking about their expectations and start thinking of what you want for yourself. Set your own expectations.â Naomi said the words confidently, but thought about how hypocritical she sounded. The last three weeks she had been expertly avoiding talking about her future with her mum, but she knew it was only a matter of time before the subject came up again.Â
âYou make it sound like you donât like my costume.â
Expect the Unexpected || Fawley + Naomi
justfawley:
The vibes he was getting from the other girl were not at all pleasant & it was starting to make him nervous. Had he been the one to upset her? Or was it something else & he was just making it worse? Did she suddenly not like him as much as she used to & didnât know how to say it without hurting his feelings? Maybe he should turn back & find another staircase to hop onto. It would be the cowardly thing to do in the situation but as Fawley had said many times before, there was a reason he wasnât placed in Gryffindor.
However, his conscious was eating at him. If something truly was wrong with Naomi & he didnât at least ask about it to see if there was anything he could do, he would feel absolutely terrible about it. Friends donât let friends suffer alone & he liked to consider her a friend. âAh, I see,â he responded in a soft tone, eyes averted from her face & landing down at his feet which were shuffling on the step he stood upon. âWell- Um⌠Maybe youâd like some company on the way there? Itâs not far from where Iâm headedâŚâ Truthfully it was on a whole different floor & area of the castle but he was willing to take the long way round if she wanted.
Naomi felt horrible. Her day was going bad, and she was in a bad mood, but she could also sense the change in Fawleyâs mood. It made her frown deepen and she looked toward her feet. He was one of the few people Naomi considered a real friend, someone that she could turn to when she needed a laugh. The Gryffindor girl cursed to herself.
She stopped walking, looking over at him with a serious expression. âDo you want to accompany me, or are you doing it because you feel like you should or have to?â It came out harsher than she meant to, and Naomi, who rarely got quieter, did so. âI would like for my mother to lay off me, and I would like my life to not feel like such a mess, and I would really like for the whole goddamn castle to not act like today is some joyous day all of a sudden. I would also like someone to walk with me, but I am sure you have class and I do not want to hold you up. I will be fine on my own.â
justfawley:)
He shrugged sheepishly. âIn case I happen to come across you when youâre in distress or- or something.â One of his large hands moved to rub the back of his neck. âI guess Iâd just like to be able to⌠calm you⌠if that was ever the case.â It came out sounding more like a question than anything else. He then cleared his throat to move on before he said too much. âWe could always give it a go. I am a pretty fast learner,â he replied, a small smirk gracing his features.â
âNo doubt thereâs loads of stories that Iâm not sure I want to hear,â he slightly teased with a shake of his head. âBut Iâm sure itâs all fascinating.â
She laughed, âIâm just picking on you, Fawley. You can note anything you would like about me.â Naomi laughed at the awkwardness he gave off. âI do need to be calmed sometimes, though. Iâm one of the rowdiest of the rowdy people.â
âAlright, fast learner Fawley, why donât we start right now?â She said, an idea in mind.
âMarlene and I have been getting into trouble since she could walk. There are probably too many stories for us to tell at this point. If you are ever in the mood for a story, find me and I will talk your ear off.â
emmelinegabriellavance:
âThat;s what a classroom is normally for Naomi.â
âYou are not wrong there, Vance.â
eriszabini:
âWhatâs this chickâs deal anyway?â
âWe are prettier and more popular than her?â
ofnarcissasblack:
âGood chocolate is not disgusting, those frogs are not good chocolate. And, believe it or not, I hadnât given your buttocks much thought.â
âChocolate is chocolate. Any chocolate is good.â Naomi shook her head, amazed. âEverybody has given by buttocks some kind of thought at some point, Narcissa.â
