❝Uh-huh, you sound like you're full of shit.❞ JC forgot how the two women met, all she knew was they were hanging out and drinking. Nothing too bad, though JC kept running her mouth and didn't know when to shut up. ;
Secrets — Nancy & Julia
Once she had started, she couldn’t stop. And she had definitely started something.
Her law books had been tossed aside unlovingly and her eyes scanned the screen that displayed a scan of a newspaper clippings from years ago. Nancy was in deep. At first she had just tried to find out who this missing college student was, and now she had read everything ever even mentioning a name smiliar to that kid’s family’s name.
The whole thing made her shiver. It seemed so scarily familiar. Somehow she ended up on articles about the closed down lab, the chemical leakage inside it and akk the bullshit excuses for what happened there.
The brunette ran a hand through her ruffled curls and sighed. Her gaze scanned the folders she’d placed beside her. One was across the table - she was about to reach for it when she realized that it wasn’t one she’d brought here. Peeking around her own machine, she tried to make out the girl sitting in front of the one across from her.
“I’m ... so sorry.” She cleared her throat. “Are you done with this one?” She tried for her friendliest smile. Just because this girl looked at newspaper clippings from the same time frame she did, didn’t mean they were looking for the same thing. Never ever.

some people don’t believe in coincidences, but not Aren despite his rationality towards everything else in life. in all honesty, he just thinks they live in a damn small world where everyone spends half their lives tripping on each other’s toes and bumping into those they least expect to see. Aren is very lowkey when it comes to the club and there is virtually no one who knows he is a member of a club such as the one he’s in. there is no shame in it, it’s a way to have fun like any other, he just doesn’t need the judgment from his prude-ish friends or work colleagues. it’s only when he spots a familiar face that he remembers he knows a few deviants like him -- one he knows way too well -- whom he hasn’t seen in years. suddenly, he’s filled with excitement and a bit of wonder, uncaring of what the woman may think when she sees him.
“Could I inquire, miss,” he starts as he approaches her “what is a goddess doing, mingling with us, mere mortals?”

one would say Nico was a good opportunist. if his night was slow, he made sure to stir it and add something more to it -- he hated to wait for things to fall on his lap (despite how welcome those were). he sees her from across the room, and he could say it’s fate and she stood out and she was the only one he saw but that is sweet talk, and he saves that to the bedroom. he's seen her before, he made sure she’d seen him before as well -- a charming smile offered in a way that almost looked shy with how boyish he looks. he makes a beeline from where he stands and approaches the woman “penny for your thoughts?” he whispers, leaning in just slightly, but not enough to touch her, sliding into the seat next to her immediately after.
