Castiel dragged both hands through his hair and down his face with a heavy sigh. The books were... unique- so to say. But Cas didn't understand how this man of all people was some sort of link to the dangers trailing them. It didn't make sense, all Castiel knew was Kyle knew more to heaven and hell and angels than any normal human should- even more than the prophets would know. He knew about the hierarchy of the angels- down to the ways God willed them into creation; but he wasn't in the stories- that tales that Chuck weaved before up and disappearing on them all.
He'd sat out on the picnic table all night, guarding the motel room he'd teleported the brothers and Kyle to, but when the Winchester's took off to stall another worldwide emergency, Cas had been left to try and balance out the shock and disbelief of this human under his charge. And it was quickly proving harder than he'd anticipated. With another heavy sigh, Cas got up and went back in the room, his eyes never leaving the human in there. "Dean says human's like treats so... I got these for you." he handed the man a blue bag marked with a rainbow. "They're supposed to be the best thing in the machine." he shrugged, not entirely sure how to improve his socializing with the stranger. "Can you... tell me again how you learned so much about enochian wardings and spells, i mean, these stories you've written-- these are things that predate humanity itself, some of these are from before I even came into existence-how did you figure them out?"
