“You must be so tired after running through my mind all day.” Steve looked over at Kara and rasied a brow before hiding a smirk behind his coffee mug.
“Steve, that was terrible and you know it, but I’ve got worse.” Bucky mused out before looking over at Kara and smirking. “Excuse me. I think you dropped something. Nevermind, it’s just my jaw.”
Nancy was such a freaking cliché. Here she was, in her girl-next-door dress with her stack of books and absolutely no desire to hang out at the library again. These days she had literally no idea where her life was going, and she felt an overwhelming sense of absolutely wasting her life away without doing anything to benefit anyone.
She’d walked by the Hawkins Post so many times, who were back to writing about stolen garden gnomes and deer accidents. And Nancy was still paranoid. Oh, so paranoid. And lonely.
The counter had been empty as she walked into the family video, mostly just to waste time. She browsed the aisles, running her fingers along the tapes, which had collected a little dust.
Finally, she went around a corner and froze.

“Listen Buck, what you did was not your fault and it never was. The only thing that you ever did wrong was being the friend of Captain America and being in the Howling Commando’s. If you hadn’t been around me then they wouldn’t have turned you into a brainwashed assassin.” Steve puts his face in his hands and then wipes them up and down a couple of times before he looks back up at Bucky and smiles slightly “Well, at least we’re back together and raising a little hell like we used to right?” He tilts his head to the side and then cocks and eyebrow at him
“You up to going out to a bar with me tonight? I know that it takes a lot to get us drunk but I’m not going there to get shit faced, just enough to relax. If you wanna come then I’m leaving in two hours so that’s how much time you’ve got to think about it.” Steve then chuckles and get up out of the chair and gives Bucky a slap on the back and then walks toward the door
“I’m going to go into the commons and watch something on the Netflix until that two hour mark comes round so why don’t you come with me?”

Steve smiled softly at her words and let out a low sigh. He knew he have to keep his emotions in check when he was around everyone. But he wanted to be strong for the team. It’s what he’s always done. He didn’t know much of anything else. Not really. Ever since he became Captain America, he’s just be the strong one, the one who was always ready to dive head first into whatever needed to be done. It was exhausting. So when Wanda squeezed his hand he let out a small sigh of relief. “Thank you, Wanda. I really do apricate it.”
