Izzy pulled the hood closer about her face before she dashed out into the pouring rain. A scowl found its way onto her features as the rain fell down from the clouds. Here she stood in the pouring rain, wearing an old hooded sweatshirt and a pair of jeans two sizes too big, also covered in holes. How had she ended up like this? Just a few months ago she'd been wearing Gucci and Tiffany while resting comfortably in her penthouse apartment. Now here she was. And why? Because she'd cared about some stupid cop. The mission had been simple from the beginning. All she had to do was keep him distracted from finishing the case against Slater, her boss. She'd made the suggestion after hearing the startling news that Slater planned on just taking him out. For whatever reason, she couldn't let that happen. She had stuck to the plan--the case was dropped and she left, just like she'd arranged. Izzy exhaled loudly as she continued down the soaked sidewalk, avoiding the puddles. Oh, but what she hadn't counted on was letting herself care about the cop. She blamed this on how long it had taken her to distract him. He was smarter than she guessed, not an easy target. He wasn't too smart however, for trusting someone like her. Remorse pulsed through her, almost to the point of making her throw up. Of course, this could have been because of the other issue.... She shook her head, arms folded protectively around her midsection as she halted in front of the door. It took her a moment before she brought her bruised knuckles to tap against the door. My, this was going to be something.
