@qceensofkings asked:
“Please tell me all these people swarming the house aren’t actually here for the wedding,” Isabelle murmurs, already conscious of the fact that Viktoria has been glaring at her every time they cross paths. ((For Walter, from Isa))
"They are." His marriages were always a big thing, it was a union of families. A pact between them, they were faithful servants to him and he made sure they were looked after but this marriage was different. It wasn't a contract between families. No this was one of actual love and affection.
Walter knew Viktoria was taking this the hardest. She was his first wife and therefore put herself above the other wives but she would not be above Isabelle as she was his chosen. She had more rights than any of them. "You are the first I have chosen to marry that was not for a contract, a transaction. They are all curious about who could have my heart."
His eyes flickered down from the crowd gathering in the courtyard below to the women standing next to him. "You don't need to face them until you are ready. Stay here and relax."
