I am tired. From the bottom of my heart, I am exhausted. I’m in love with two people - my dead best friend and a guy who most likely can never reciprocate the feelings I have for him (or at the very least won’t ever admit if he has them or not). I get that time heals all wounds. I can genuinely believe that on most things. Even with Colin, I know I can move on from that eventually. But how can I move on from being in love with someone who has been dead for almost four years now? I’m so tired.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Red vs. Blue Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Agent Connecticut/Agent South Dakota (Red vs. Blue) Characters: Agent South Dakota (Red vs. Blue), Agent Connecticut (Red vs. Blue), Agent North Dakota (Red vs. Blue), AI Program Delta (Red vs. Blue), Agent Washington (Red vs. Blue) Additional Tags: One-Sided Attraction, One-Sided Relationship, Angst Summary:
This is a story about South as she comes to terms with how she feels about C.T., her betrayal, and facing death after. Constantly she thinks about C.T. and what could have been, but in the end, at least the Meta can't get her too.
I think that the Freelancer arc is probably my favourite in RvB, but that doesn’t stop me from crying like a baby every time I finish season 10. Seriously, my feelings don’t need this, why do I do it to myself.

Wakeup.

That’show it’s been for the longest time at base. Washington didn’t mind too much. Hehad a few close friends to have lunch with, and he was slowly improving in hisskills. Things were moving relativelysmoothly, even if he was nowhere near the top of the leader boards.
"AlrightWash,“ came a voice. “Five things you don’t want to do at a bar withAgent Maine.”
Washlet out an annoyed groan. “Seriously C.T.?”
"Comeon,“ she insisted. "You got this.”
"Alright,let’s see… Arm Wrestle.“
"That’sone.”
"DrinkingContest.“
"Two.”
"Pool,darts, and trivia.“
"Three,four, five. Nice.”
Anagent with a pink stripe on her armor let out a sigh. “This is boring. Weshould be getting missions! Not sitting at lunch playing games.”
"Lightenup, Ohio,“ C.T. grumbled.
"I’mtired of being cooped up on the ship!” Ohio threw the apple core on hertray across the room, bouncing it off of Idaho’s head as he and Iowa approached.
"Hey!“he bellowed. "Ohio!”
"Sorry!“
"Justbe patient guys,” Wash soothed. “We’ll get moved up eventually. Justgive it time.”
"Andjust what,“ Ohio whined, "are we supposed to do until then? Sit arounduntil who knows when?”
"Well…“
Washlooked around, taking note of the other Freelancers in the room. Most of thehigher ranked Agents ate in a different area, though North Dakota and Yorkseemed to have chosen to spend lunch with Illinois across the room. Most of the other Agents were scattered.
"Howabout this?”
Washtook the pudding cup off of C.T.’s tray (It’s tapioca she won’t mind, he mused)and removed the lid before throwing it as hard as he could.
"Illinois!“he bellowed. "Catch!”
Illinoislooked up from his bottle of, what Wash hoped, was apple juice. Just as he sawit, the contents of the cup splattered all over his helmet.
"Washington,“Iowa stammered. "Do you know what you just did?”
"Uh,“Wash mumbled. "I think I made things interesting?”
SuddenlyIllinois stood up from his seat with something that appeared to be a tomato inhis throwing arm. He got on top of the table, with North and York following insuit with other vegetables as they bellowed in unison.
"FOODFIGHT!“
Wash’seyes went wide. "Everyone! Battle stations!”
Ohioquickly flipped over the table so it could act as a barrier. C.T., Iowa, andIdaho grabbed as much food as they could so that there was enough ammo. All the other tables started to follow, andsoon there were two factions on either side of the cafeteria throwing food ateach other.
"Howare the stores?“ Wash asked Ohio.
"We’reout of apples,” she giggled. “This is so much fun!”
"HeyWash?“ Idaho asked.
"What?”
"Ithink we have trouble.“
Washpeeked over the top of the flippedtable, letting out a hearty laugh as the enemy team prepared a slingshot forthe bowls of spinach and kale.
"Saladtossers!” he bellowed.
"Takeno prisoners!“ Illinois called, his voice slipping into that of a seacaptain. "Aim for starboard! We’ll be takin’ yer booty!”
"Wash, they want our booty!“ Iowa squealed. "I don’t want them to get mybooty! I like my booty!”
Washreached around and grabbed a bowl of peas, a playful smirk on his face as heswiped a nearby straw. “Don’t worry, Iowa. I got your booty. ” Hehanded the peas and straw to Idaho. “See if you can hit them withthese.”
"Awesome!“Idaho chuckled. "I used to do this in elementary school!”
Soonmore food was flying. Peas hit walls, milk splashed the floor, and C.T. andNorth were soon in an up close and personal leek fight. Wash managed to get abottle of ketchup to splash all over North’s shoulder while York bestowed vengeanceby raining bananas.
It wasa mess, but it was fun.
Until…
“What.The. HELL?!”
Everyonefroze as the single digits appeared. Someone had hit South Dakota in the chestwith a bottle of mustard, while Maine and Wyoming were covered in ranchdressing.
Carolinahad a plate of spaghetti on her helmet.
"Ohfuck,“ Wash mumbled.
Mainelooked between the two groups, his helmet masking his emotions as he made hisway over to Wash’s side.
He’sgoing to kill me, Wash thought. He’s going to kill me and use me as a trainingdummy.
Mainereached down and picked up a watermelon that had been spared from the carnage, before tossing it and hitting Wyoming with it.
"Oh,Maine,” Wyoming snickered. “You have no idea what you’ve justdone.”
Washsmiled as the fight continued, with Maine and South joining Wash while Carolinaand Wyoming were on Illinois’.
Theywere all probably going to get in trouble for this later.
But fornow, they were going to have a little fun.
I maynot be the strongest Freelancer, he thought. But hell, I’m certainly one of thehappiest.
she’s so tired of the director’s shit
