red moon over cubetown - a c64 multicolor image
my lateste addition to my pixelart - fire and ice - 16 colors for c64 . Released remotely at the oldschool gfx competition xenium 2023 in Łódź.
"Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles I'm feeling very still And I think my spaceship knows which way to go"
Excerpt of the song "Space Oddity" by David Bowie Was searching for a theme for a pixelart to create. After spending the night before without any plan at all and waking up the next day I turned on the radio and was listening to Space Oddity. Standing there and eeating my oat meal - there was the idea for this picture. Just 2 1/2 hours before deadline in the revision 2021 demopart in their oldschool graphics competition. Done in Photoshop (fast protoyping the Main buildup/Composition) and multipaint (to adjust colors, remove color-clashes and cleanup the pixels).
2 c64 Graphics I did for the c64 demo "we fly high" the first one is a standard c64 multicolor and the rabenauge logo is done in 3 colors.
this was my oldschool compo entry for the revision demoparty 2014 - a c64 multicolor picture. Just to point out the limits to show what´s the challenge to it: A c64 MultiColor screen has a resolution of 160*200 pixels/16 fixed colors. A pixel has a 2x1 ratio and the screen is divided into 40*25 cells. Each cell has a size of 4*8 pixel where you can just use 4 colors in a cell - one of these is already the background color. the other 3 colors can be choosen from the fixed 16 color palette.
