Secrets discovered | Damon, Faye and Robb
He had ruined her. How could he ever look at her again, talk to her again knowing that? Damon was selfish, he was flawed. His father has been right, he would bring ruin to all that he touched.
He had been able to successfully avoid her since their night together, war was a good distraction he had to give it that. But then came the wedding, and he could not stop his eyes falling to her. How could he only notice now how beautiful she is? Even when the night was over he had not respite from his thoughts, the thoughts of Ruby and his guilt had haunted him all night, like ghosts whispering to him. He'd barely slept and welcomed morning when it finally broke, hoping it would chase away his thoughts as it did the night.
But the morning brought no respite and neither did the goblet of wine that he poured for himself.
It was still early, the morning light having just broken, and many would sleep long into the day after last night festivities. The thought came to him as quickly as a flame takes hold. Faye. Faye would know what to do. His sister would be nothing but brutally honest with him and perhaps she would hate him but her words would give him direction. It would be a relief to be hated by another than by himself.
He dressed quickly before he lost his resolve. He strode across the camp towards his sisters tent. She would still be sleeping, but that was okay, Damon could pour himself another goblet of wine to calm himself then he would wake her. She'd be angry but it would starting point for the conversation they were to have.
Damon pushed back the flap door to her tent and crept quickly inside. He gave a quick glance to the sleeping form of his sister before walking to the table where he wine lay. He got half way before he paused, frozen to the ground. Slowly he turned back to her bed and saw this his sister was not alone.
