Settling on the Right Kind of Conveyor for a Particular Production Facility
Although conveyor belts are simple, reliable, and affordable, they are not always easy on the items and materials they are used to transport. In some cases, larger items that line up neatly along a conveyor belt will experience relatively little stress and wear as they move from one place to the next, and conveyor belts can make excellent solutions in these situations. When smaller items, particularly a loose or irregular sort, are placed on conveyor belts, the issues become more complicated. Relatively rugged items might stand up well to the friction, blockages, and congestion that often result, but others could be damaged in the process.
