It’s going to be a grey day, Even thinks. It’ll be one of those. All ash in the wake and none of the fire from before.

Our Ramblings:

An in-depth look into Even’s thoughts and feelings about his past, his relationship with Isak and how to deal with the present; very calm and quiet; great characterization of Isak too

Complex and nuanced portrayal of Even built subtly and organically

Unique metaphors that really enhance the feelings that are conveyed; paints a really clear picture of the setting; incredibly visual and immersive

Writing style is gorgeous and poetic, but grounded and realistic

Deals with sensitive topics respectfully and feels very real

Note: rated E, warnings for depression and implied/referenced self harm

Resenha de Filme - A Invenção de Hugo Cabret

No começo do filme me senti um pouco confuso e curioso, pois não sabia ao certo do que esperar do filme. Mas ao ver sobre o passado do menino Hugo, comecei a me sentir triste. Conforme os acontecimentos do filme continuavam comecei a ficar cada vez mais angustiado, ao intrigado sobre a máquina que o menino Hugo estava tentando arrumar.

           Quando chegou ao meio do filme, explicando sobre a origem da máquina e o que ela fazia, fiquei me imaginando se isso realmente existiu e aconteceu, ou foi apenas uma liberdade artística do filme. Fiquei muito surpreso, com as referencias que o filme fez aos primórdios do cinema e aos filmes de Méliès. Dá mesma forma fiquei bastante curioso com o desenrolar das tramas dos personagens coadjuvantes.

           Ao final do filme fiquei bastante feliz e aliviado com final, dando um final feliz ao destino de todos os personagens. Também fiquei curioso para procurar sobre Méliès, se de fato eram verdades o que ocorreu no filme, e curiosamente muitos dos fatos eram verdades.
