what’s their favorite thing to do in the winter as a couple: watch dumb christmas movies even though dean is such a scrooge, but as long as he's snuggled up against randy he's not gonna argue. 

who gives their scarf / jacket to the other when they get cold: randy's the gentlemen, always making sure his little bb is warm. randy dresses up a lot more than dean, so dean always looks silly with his ripped up jeans and randy's $150 dark blue coat with the buttons.

who’s more likely to slip in the snow and what would the other do: dean would probably slip, cursing like a fucking sailor while randy tries to hide his laughter and help him up. this usually results in dean pulling randy down with him and eventually laughing too because neither of them can get up and they look like idiots.

what they like to do when it snows: usually shovel out the driveway together, dean enjoys this bc it's a good excuse to skip the gym and it's an amazing stress reliever for him, despite how much randy hates shoveling. they'll have little snowball fights too which are actually adorable.

who would start a snowball fight: randy, because he knows it's going to make dean mad and dean's going to throw one or two back and thus a war begins.

who decorates the Christmas tree and who gets to put the star on top: usually randy does the decorating, dean will sit and watch and tell randy that one ornament is too close to the other or they look silly next to each other. they put the star up together because they're romantic and mushy like that.

who makes who wear the matching Christmas sweater: randy bought them matching ugly christmas sweaters for a party, dean swears he will never lay a finger on his sweater. he's kept to that promise as well.

what a christmas tradition of theirs is: uhhh. well randy always gets an ornament made up for them each year and surprising dean with it christmas eve, that's the one ornament dean hangs on the tree.

what foods do they like to make for Christmas: cookies, because it's all their horrible cooking asses can make without ruining. sometimes a ham, if roman's over to help.

what gifts would they exchange: hm. well i guess the cheesy ornament from randy is a gift to dean, and dean usually buys randy a box of chocolates because he really hates shopping and those are easy to buy.

who is more likely to get kicked out of the bed: can go both ways, dean's a bed hog and might accidentally shove randy out of bed. for that reason, sometimes randy has to tell dean to sleep on the couch.

who uses the computer most: randy considering he's the only one who knows how to. but he's rarely on it.

this is cliche as fuck, but how about a coffee shop au where dean works at a coffee shop, despite hating the place and the people he has to help, but he's always nice to randy whenever he comes in.

ok so i hope this is cute enough for you, i’m still lacking creativity and motivation :(( but i thought this turned out pretty cute. i love coffee shop prompts. for some reason lately i’ve hated caps lock so hopefully it’s not too messy for ya.

"screw you and your stupid coffee." dean grumbles at the customer who just walked away from the counter after giving him a hard time.

he runs a hand through his hair and sucks in a deep breath, trying to calm himself after a rush of customers. being the only barista really sucks on a sunday morning when most of the customers don’t have any respect for the man while he’s running around trying to get six different orders done as fast as he can.

he finally catches a break and steadies his breathing, hoping that maybe the rest of the day won’t be so bad. but the ding of the door signals a new customer and he lets out an exaggerated sigh as he steps towards the register.

when he glances up and catches sight of the familiar blue eyes, a giant smile creeps up on his face.

"hey randal." dean teases, finally releasing a smile of his own for the first time today.

"oh come on, you should know damn well by now that i go by randy." he says, trying to keep his tone serious but he’s having a hard time wiping the grin from his face.

"yeah, jus’ teasin. what do ya’ want today, randy?" dean’s cheeks are starting to hurt because he can’t stop smiling but it’s a nice hurt; a hurt that he doesn’t get to experience much.

randy sighs as his eyes travel over the menu behind dean. “anything, surprise me.”

"surprise you? you sure about that?" dean asks as he grabs a cup from the stack next to him and begins scribbling across it with sharpie, smirking to himself as he reads over the little note he’s scribbled across it.

"yeah, i’m sick of the regular. so just throw together something good." randy grins as he watches dean write on his cup.

"i can do that." dean smiles and heads towards all the different coffee machines.

dean doesn’t really pay much attention to what he’s throwing into the cup but whatever the hell is in it smells real good. he slides the coffee to randy with a satisfied grin, which only grows more when randy seems to enjoy the first sip.

"what is this? it’s good, like really good." randy praises as he sips the drink some more.

"a surprise." dean shrugs, sighing when the coffee shop door opens and a group of teenage girls come strolling in.

randy hands dean some money, “keep the change. thanks a lot for this, hope you remember what it is because i’ll be back for another tomorrow morning.”

dean smiles, liking the idea of seeing randy again tomorrow. ” can’t wait. seeya’ randal.”

dean watches randy walk towards the door, smirking to himself when randy stops and smiles as he reads over dean’s little note he left on the side of his cup. it reads something like “surprise, randy. here’s my number i dont think i can wait a whole night to see you again.”

i had to write. just something. it's really, really bad and i didn't put any effort into making it look pretty. it's rushed. i only read it over once rather than a million times like usual but hopefully this is me getting my writing back on track. 

i don't even know what it is. fluff? sorta. dean has a nightmare and can't sleep in his own bed, so yeah.

"uggghhh!" dean grumbles, kicking out of his blankets aggressively and glancing throughout the dark room. this is the third time tonight he's woken up to a blood curdling scream

for a guy who is really scared of nothing, whatever is going on right now is really freaking him out. he figures now's the time to be the dumb ass and go investigate his small apartment and probably run himself into his impending death.

he grabs a bat from next to his bed, just in case he might need it. and he's cursing under his breath every time the floor creaks which is pretty much every other step he takes. he guides himself through the hall with one hand on the wall and one gripping the bat tightly. there's an unsettling feeling lingering in the pit of his stomach and he's starting to fear for his life.

he sees the living room flickering a whole bunch of colors, signalling that the television is on. randy (the guy he shares the apartment with) must have left it on before he went to bed. 

"can't sleep either?" randy's voice speaks, scaring the absolute life out of dean who actually attempts to swing the bat before realizing it was just randy. 

dean lets out a sigh of relief and tosses the bat to the couch, "god i thought you were a fuckin' demon or some shit."

randy laughs, "nope just me. what was that about?"

dean feels embarrassed to ask, "were you just watching a horror movie, maybe something involving a women screaming bloody murder?"

"uh, i was watching the news... so no. you alright?" the tone in randy's voice changes a little bit, along with the expression on his face. he's somewhat worried about his roommate.

dean runs his hand along the back of his neck nervously, ready to say screw it and head back into bed. but the feeling in the pit of his stomach is stopping him from going back down that hallway. he doesn't want to be in that room tonight, not with that constant demonic screaming. 

"i'm just - i dunno', doesn't matter." dean stumbles on his words a bit, not wanting to sound like a huge wimp.

"okay, well, you go get some sleep. 'night." randy pats him on the shoulder and heads towards his bedroom. 

"wait." dean almost whispers but randy hears him and stops in place, turning around to look at him. "i can't sleep in that room tonight." 

"oh, okay... you wanna switch?" randy asks, knowing that it's probably better if he doesn't ask questions about why dean refuses to sleep in his own bed. he knows his roommate is a little strange and some things are just better left unsaid.

deans fingers tap wildly against his collarbone, a nervous habit he'd picked up when he was a child and carried all the way til now. "i don't really wanna' be alone" 

randy can tell that dean's obviously super freaked out and he knows it takes a lot to freak a lunatic out. so he just nods, too tired to tell him that whatever he heard was probably just a dream. "alright, fine."

dean strides across the living room quickly and past randy, into his bedroom that has a much more comfortable feel to it. he grabs a pillow from the bed and tosses it to the floor, dropping down and making himself comfortable.

randy watches from the doorway, "you're not sleeping on the floor."

"it's alright, it's fine. already feels better than my room." dean mumbles, squeezing his eyes shut and hoping he'll fall asleep in seconds.

"i don't have a problem sharing my bed with you. come on, get up here." randy argues, as he settles on one side of the bed.

usually dean would object but he knows he'd feel a million times better with randy right next to him. ever since they'd moved in together randy had always radiated this securing feeling, something dean's never really had.

so dean crawls up into the bed, carefully getting comfortable under the blankets. "thanks randy."

"yeah, yeah" randy smiles to himself before flicking out the lights.

but there's still a little panic that dean can't seem to wipe away, and he's having a hard time falling asleep. he's fighting the urge to just say fuck it all and go watch television all night. he readjusts himself in an attempt to get comfier but instead bumps backs with randy. and for a slight second all of the fear subsides and dean feels normal.

"c'mon go t'sleep." randy groans.

dean sighs, realizing what it's going to take to help him sleep. "i can't." 

randy shifts in his spot, "why not?" he asks, his voice a little more awake but still stuck in that really adorable raspy half awake tone.

"i don't know. i just have this feelin' that as soon as i fall asleep i'm gonna wake up to somebody slamming an axe through my chest" dean says.

randy lets out a quiet chuckle, "i'm not gonna' let anybody kill you. not on my bed sheets." 

that brings a smile to deans face but it doesn't really help him feel any better. "are you facing me?" dean asks.

randy moves around a little more, "am now."

dean nods to himself before moving himself backwards so that his back is pressed against randy's chest. he tenses up a little bit in fear that randy will shove him out of his bed any second. but immediately those terrible feelings disappear and randy doesn't seem to mind sort of being the big spoon to dean.

"is this okay?" dean asks. 

"very okay." randy answers. and a few seconds later he drapes his arm over dean to pull him even closer, leaving his arm wrapped over his chest.

the both of them fall asleep smiling to themselves, finally realizing that their crushes on each other aren't totally useless.
