Why don't we have like, old style mourning anymore?  Like victorian/elisabethan/late 19th century or earlier?

Like what happened to half mourning?

( I mean the victorian era was pretty meh in a lot of ways (to me, IMO) but that is one thing that feels like they got right?  That feels sensible?  Especially the older I get? )

when i was little i thought geysers were called ‘geezers’ and it cracks me up to this day. found a video of baby-me in yellowstone imploring my mother to ‘look at the geezer’ and haven’t been the same since lmao
