It was a good day today. The sun was high, and she could almost not see the terrible green light on the horizon. Almost. It was such a thing of curiosity, the Breach, but Mary wasn't dumb enough to go chasing it. She knew where it led, and she knew what came out of it and those cute little rifts that it created. She knew. And, so, she kept her distance. Far and farther. She was completely fine in her small cottage on the edge of the Hinterlands. No one bothered her.
Sure, there were rumors of a white witch in these parts who sometimes left medicine and instructions on how to administered it on the doorsteps of the sick. A mysterious figure who seemed to keep a constant eye on things going around. What they didn't whisper, however, was apostate. Which she was. She had been for a very long time. She just wanted to exist and do her work and live.
Which is why she was super surprised and wary when she walked back to her small home and there was a whole party of warriors camped on her stoop. It was an icy chill that coursed through her nerves and she stopped, hands clasped around the basket of herbs she had just collected. Hazel eyes flickered between the group and settled on the woman they seemed to be circled around. She knew that symbol. Inquisition.
What were they doing here?
❛ Inquisitor. That is who you are, right? What brings the lot of you to my doorstep? ❜ Mary pause before brushing her hair out of her eyes and moving forward, knuckles white from holding the band of her basket so tightly. She hated confrontation. ❛ It seems odd for such an important organization to be at my doorstep. ❜
