Cadaverific: Embarrassing Drawing Mistakes (Issue 3)
It's been over a week since I ended my webcomic, Cadaverific. Not quite sure how I feel about that yet. Aside from self-publishing the rest of the issues, I'm also not quite sure what to do with the comic next.
Anyway, it's also been awhile since my first "Mistakes" post. Here in Chapter/Issue 3, I still struggled with drawing arms (and anatomy in general), and decided that tattoos were a PAIN to draw.
Cadaverific: Embarrassing Drawing Mistakes (Issue 2)
Multitasking tonight. Alternating between working on the next page of my webcomic, Cadaverific, and putting together issue 8 of the same title. I just realized that there was something about the series that I had never shared online before.
On the back of the printed issues of the comic is a section called "Embarrassing Drawing Mistakes". A few people thought that freely pointing out my mistakes and poking fun at my art was ballsy, some thought I was being too hard on myself. Personally, I respond better to harsh criticism, and I don't mind showing my artistic struggles to the world.
Anyway, below is the first one from issue 2. More pages to follow...
"There was a rumor that you were dead, I wanted to see if it was true. However, seems that you are in fact intact and not indeed cadaverific."
".....C-Cadav--Levi.....did you make a joke?" A rather lame joke, but it was enough to make the man's lips twitch into a faint smirk of amusement.

So this Saturday (the 21st) is Word on the Street in Kitchener...

...I say "EEEK!!", because I really don't have a lot of info on where I'll be, other than somewhere outside City Hall. I believe that I'll be sitting with Thodestool Literacy Services, alongside Waterloo's Vanessa Ricci-Thode, author of Dragon Whisperer. There should be another author or two (or more) at the booth....will post more as soon as I know! Issues 1-7 of Cadaverific will be there too, of course.
Check out the other booths too while you're at WOTS, bring your friends and/or family! There should be something for everyone, it's one of my favourite book and magazine festivals!
A Brief Update...
My comic Cadaverific hit a milestone last weekend, hitting 200 pages. Season/Chapter 11 will be starting soon. I am also debating whether or not to put Cadaverific into a volume instead of comic book issues. Decisions, decisions....
I also posted Sikotik World #10, my one page filler comics about random life stuff. Apparently I can't spell the word "intestine" (CHECK. YOUR. SPELLING!)... >_<
This weekend I will be at Comic Connection Oakville for Free Comic Book Day (May 4th) and Art O Con in Burlington (May 5th), selling issues 1-6 of Cadaverific. Yay! :D
