I don't think a lot of people know what was so funny about Loss.jpg was the context. At that point Ctrl+Alt+Del was a gag a day "What if Mario did Drugs" level gaming webcomic but then out of nowhere the author decides to make a serious arc about miscarriage and postpartum depression then as soon as it started they went back to wacky gaming hijinks. Imagine if Garfield did an arc where Jon got into a serious car accident and was clinging to life. Liz is beside herself with grief, Odie is terrified of losing another owner and Garfield is forced to not only confront his own mortality but also what Jon truly means to him. Then the strip after that was over was about Garfield trying to bake Jon into a giant lasagna. That's Loss.jpg.
