King Cobra cover by Ron Smith. The background images (not by Ron Smith) came from interior art and it's likely the image of King Cobra was reused from an earlier cover or story. Ron Smith had moved on to being one of the regular Judge Dredd artists by this stage.
This was the final issue of Hotspur. In this comic format it had been published from October 1959 but there had been an earlier Hotspur 'story paper' title that ran from September 1933 to October 1959. From the issue on sale 31 January 1981 it was merged with the other long running DC Thomson title Victor. The stories would be a mixture of new strips and reprints.

It takes something special to bring me back to the ole Commando comics here in the UK but D.C.Thomson have been resurrecting characters from their various back catalogue of war comics and these two are no exception.

Cadman appeared in the old Victor war comic and was a huge favourite with many of us readers. What makes these two issues even more special is that they are both illustarted by original Cadman artist Mike Dorey!
