Le Dartrier, dénommé aussi casse ailé ou Cassia alata ou Kassialata, est une espèce de plantes à fleurs de la famille des Caesalpiniaceae, ou des Fabaceae. Il appartient à la tribu des Cassieae. C'est un arbuste originaire du Mexique.

Caesalpinia gilliesii

This drought-tolerant shrub is known as the “Desert Bird-of-Paradise” or the “Yellow Bird-of-Paradise”, and it is native to Argentina and Uruguay. It is no relation to the Bird-of-Paradise from South Africa, and belongs to the Caesalpinioideae subfamily of the Fabaceae, or Pea Family. In some classification systems, the three pea subfamilies are treated as separate families, and this would put our plant in the family Caesalpiniaceae. In any case, it makes a handsome and free-flowering shrub, though perhaps gardens adjacent to open areas should avoid it, since it is reported to have escaped from cultivation in some places.
