Your Ides of March reminder that Gaius Julius Caesar was (1) elected by the people, (2) highly popular with the people during both of his stints as consul, and (3) was killed because a group of aristocrats didn't like that he redistributed land to poor citizens and expanded welfare, and believed he would undertake more such reforms.

I'm taking a class on Cleopatra VII this semester and the part where we talk about Caesars assassination by intentional planning on my profs part just so happens to fall near the Ides of March and I got my professor's permission to bring in a cake of Caesar and some plastic knives.

Ted: He's too much of a soft boi. He wouldn't even go near Caesar, he'd just be at home drinking wizard tea

Kate: In a heartbeat. She would be first in line to stab him and would give everyone else the knives

Snagria: She's too much of a coward. If she did kill him, it would be an accident

Captain Tark: I don't really think he would. He'd be more likely to challenge Caesar to an Uno match

Naga: She wouldn't just kill Caesar, she'd also try to kill everyone else there in a murderous rage

Noko: They seem morally grey enough to pull it off

Azra: He would but only so that the last thing going through Caesar's mind would be the fact that he was killed by an obscure side character that no one even likes

Naomi: Hard to say. Her only appearance is in a flashback when she was 8 and I don't think an 8 year old could kill Caesar. Probably

apparently nobody in my life understands that i learned about julius caesar's assassination and made a skit about it in 6th grade which sparked this weird attachment slash obsession with it for years to come, including spontaneous bouts of research and writing an analysis essay for the shakespeare play and getting overenthusiastic every 15th of march, and no i will never get over it there are just so many chaotic and hilarious things you can point out about this one instance that happened around 2 millenia ago, but tumblr gets it right?

If the Ides of March on here becomes like the Christmas season and starts taking over an entire month before the day, I'm genuinely going to turn into the Ides of March Grinch, constantly pointing out how the glorification of the assassination was a careful political narrative woven by aristocratic politicians to justify the defense of their class interests.
