I hate it when I'm really loving a Deltarune analysis post only for the OP to off-handedly dismiss Gaster's narrative importance using some hilariously half-baked rationalization. Because now the OP has me second-guessing not only the quality of their post but also their media analysis skills as a whole, and for what? So they could avoid giving further thought to a character who nobody forced them to address in the first place?
If you have zero personal interest in Gaster or the direction of his character, that's totally fine! Nobody ever said that you're required to care about him. However, in such case, I strongly recommend that you either just state as much or exclude him from your posts entirely.

I think Gaster is going to be important, and a real character, as opposed to permanently a creepypasta mystery guy, for the same reason I think Toby isn't going to asspull some stupid twist like Rudy Knight. Toby's body of work is, in large part, about sincerity; and a Gaster-minimized position makes the years of intrigue built up around the character amount to... nothing, ultimately.
Far be it of me to comment on the politics of another nation, but the Binface thing is so fucking funny. I just saw an attempted smear article against Binface in the Telegraph. It was basically just like THIS JOKE IS NOT FUNNY IT IS STUPID ALSO A DIFFERENT GOOFY POLITICIAN WHO DID A SIMILAR BIT KILLED THEMSELVES (stay classy Telegraph) AND ALSO DID YOU KNOW BINFACE IS LIBERAL!?!?!?!?!?
I'm reminded of a time in high school during student body elections, when some of my friends began posting signs around the school to encourage students to write in a vote for the pokemon blastoise. And no one really took it seriously until the school did a psa over the morning intercom not to vote for blastoise and to take the election seriously.
After that everyone in the school, now realizing they had the ability to actually mildly disrupt the proceedings of those in power, agressively and obsessively began campaigning for blastoise. 'A vote for blastoise is a vote for blastoise. Vote Blastoise.' Became the most common thing to hear in the hallway. Some people even made tshirts with a tshirt press. Eventually a human was elected but only because the school didnt count the blastoise votes. Real voter fraud happening here. I bet the boring human class president only got like 3 votes in total but I'll never know how much my hero Blastoise was cheated.

Kris helps Ralsei reach higher than they’d ever thought possible. The way there, however, is dangerous.
I just had to write this idea when it came to my mind. I hope you’ll agree.
Okay, I feel like I ought to nail my colours to the mast more firmly with regards to my opinion on Ralsei's eventual gender(s) - can't really call myself a Ralseiniac otherwise, can I?
So, my current thinking is that Ralsei will become openly genderfluid, alternating between male, female and gender-neutral pronouns, depending on their mood on any given day. There's a number of reasons I feel that will become the case - some of that is through textual analysis - i.e. looking at the Prophecy's enforcement of the Prince role and what that entails - and some of it is through analysis of Ralsei's general character and the way he approaches the performance of gender as "dress-up". Overall, the way I see her approach to gender is through the lens of possibility and potential, as someone who wishes not to be confined to a singular identity but rather to embrace every aspect of what being Ralsei-like truly entails.
I'll elaborate on my thoughts below the read-more, but this is largely the TL;DR of the matter.
Ralsei kind of messes with the notion of gender from the very moment he is introduced - to the point that many fans initially thought he was meant to be a girl, which nowadays reads as deliciously ironic. He is initially identified as male, however, by both the prophecy itself (the Prince from the Dark) and the game's narration (the power of fluffy boys shines within you). And though this is not something that Ralsei overtly fights against, his penchant for dresses and ribbons, as well as his inclination towards more "feminine" hobbies such as sewing, baking and singing (bonus points for adopting these hobbies more for the sake of his friends rather than himself), portrays a kind of passive resistance to his gendered prophecy portrayal right out of the gate. Right from the beginning then, we can identify a tension of sorts between the identity Ralsei has been assigned, and the way in which he chooses to express that identity, pushing ever-so-gently against those bounds to try and expand what they can encompass.
We can additionally see Ralsei's suppression of the fire magic he is capable of wielding, in favour of healing spells and prayer - something that he tellingly reveals is so simple than "anyone can learn it". In both the "abridged" legend he tells and the full prophecy panel, we see Ralsei surrounded by magical flames, and this is enough to hint to us that he is not only capable of offensive fire spells, but likely excels at such destructive abilities. We can therefore draw a direct correlation between those fire spells and Ralsei's assigned identity as the Prince. However, as the adventure continues on, Ralsei is forced to draw on those suppressed abilities more and more, culminating in him using a fire spell to save Susie from a shuriken in Chapter 5. In a way, this reads like an admission of defeat, like Ralsei must come around to conforming to the prophecy's portrayal of him as a (male) fire-wielding offensive mage. However, he does so to protect those he loves, not to destroy those he opposes. And, crucially, use of that fire magic does not cancel out his healing abilities - indeed, both schools of magic can coexist together, as we see with Susie's Rude Buster and healing potential. We therefore see that, though Ralsei is still ultimately beholden to the prophecy's dictates like everyone else is, there is still wiggle-room for him to express himself in other, less destructive ways.
Moving away from the prophecy, towards Ralsei's approach and attitude to ACTing, and the various costumes that he employs to that end. This is something that both Kris and Susie are also capable of doing, but Ralsei stands out from them in a couple of ways. Firstly, he possesses unique costumes that only he can access, such as the butler outfit from chapter 2 and 5 (of which more later), the "horse" "costume" from chapter 3, and the princess dress from chapter 5's climbing minigame. We can see each of these unique instances as a form of "cosplay", with Ralsei slipping into each role the costume demands of them - he'll ask Kris and Susie "how may I serve you?" when dressed like a butler, and starts to think hay looks "yummy" after wearing the horse costume for too long.
Ralsei's approach to dress-up is quite a playful one, as we discover when equipping him with various armours such as the Royal Pin ("I'm a cute little corkboard!"), the TwinRibbon ("Try around my horns!") and the Pink Ribbon ("It's nice dressing up..."). This combined with his willingness to act out the roles he dresses up for suggests that he is content with expressing a variety of potential identities through this medium, enabling him to embrace aspects of him/herself that would otherwise not have an outlet. The ultimate expression of this would be the princess dress they wear at the end of Chapter 5's climbing game, where they exclaim, "I've been a prince for a while, but I haven't been a princess yet. I suppose the only difference is how you present yourself...
But, it's fun to try new things, isn't it...?" (of course, he immediately follows it up with "As long as it's what other people want", which shows that he is not yet completely comfortable with expressing these identities purely for his own sake. You'll get there, Ralsei.).
I also believe that genderfluid Ralsei would play very strongly into the mirror-dynamic they share with Kris, who are themself trans and non-binary. As Deltarune has gone on, it has become more and more apparent that these two characters act as mirror images of each other - both struggling with their own sense of identity, both attempting to resist the greater powers that constrain them, both believing that they are hurtling towards tragic and immutable destinies that are almost certain to destroy them both. Of course, there are crucial differences between them - Kris is a lightner while Ralsei is a darkner, Kris is human while Ralsei takes the appearance of a monster. And in terms of gender, they already act as opposite reflections of the other - Kris downplays their gender expression, almost to the point of total neutrality, albeit with the occasional flourish like their high heels in their waiter outfit. Ralsei, on the other hand, leans very heavily into gender expression of all kinds, adopting both feminine and masculine clothing and mannerisms with little hesitation. Ralsei embracing all gender identifiers both within and without the male/female binary would merely be a formal confirmation of this dynamic, I feel, and tie her more strongly to Kris in that way.
Finally, though I believe this is the weakest of the points I'm putting forth, Deltarune has already played with gender signifiers for a while now, between Lancer referring to the Fun Gang as "you boys or girls", Queen being a "girldad", Seth referring to themself as "the king or queen of the battlefield", Susie wanting to be Festival King before questioning the need for a gendered king and queen in the first place... and many other examples I have likely forgotten about. And you could certainly make the argument, as I suppose I am currently, that Deltarune is downplaying the importance of these gendered signifiers as a prelude to Ralsei's future transition into whatever permetation of gender fuckery that they choose to settle upon.
And there you have it, that's my take on where Ralsei's gender expression is going to go in future chapters. Nothing's confirmed right now, obviously, and it's entirely possible that this all turns out to be incorrect further down the line. Nonetheless, I want to put forward the interpretation that speaks to me the most right now, and I want to do so in the spirit of play and curiosity and possibility and joy. Whatever opinion you might hold on this subject, I at least hope that I've given you something to think about here.
