Caesar, the leader of the grand tribe... The King to all of his fellow brethren and sisters, in a world where their kind was wholly unwelcome. Living as peacefully as they could, in the solace of their deepened wood, his piercing green-gold eyes lingered ahead. The canopy which over-viewed the entire place in which they called home, harboring a large colony of various kind of ape, and he protected them through his knowledge... Through his strength, and he would not dare to lead them astray. Every move was done as a collective group, but it was always down to his word as the kicker for right and wrong.
Such wise eyes were turned towards the forest just outside their camp, having seen movement from the trees. A truffle of dark birds having cawed and taken to the skies, as if spooked, and he huffed out a low snort. Signing to one of his fellow troop, and taking it upon himself to go check out the disturbance. Needing none by his side, and with the spear in hand, he made his way south.
Coming to the area he had thought is where the disturbance originated from, and letting out a huff when nothing seemed to be wrong.
Yet, as he was about to turn and head back, something caught his eye... A mess of leaves and disrupted branch, definitely a mark on a tree, and Caesar strode over to investigate. Placing light fingers on the grooves in the tree, feeling the roughness of the texture, and the jagged edges of where something had hit it... Curiously, he tilted his head, watching with how the leaves at the base were curled -- as if something had been dragged......
Wanting to see more of where this had led, when he heard the grunting of another of his kind, and wide eyes glanced back. Though, where he had been alerted, now his shoulders relaxed as a familiar brother came into view.
“Koba.....!”
A hand going up to rub at his chest, a laugh on his lips - so rare an occurrence, really. Signing, casually towards him.
“Startled me!...”
Curved lips as his smile broke through, at last, and he asked innocently enough towards his friend.
“...What brings you out here?... Thought you were... back at Home...?”
