Karta wedged herself into the rock facing with a practice sort of ease. People could say what they wanted about the flora, fauna, and locals of Pandora but it was a sniper's wet dream. There were so many places to nest while waiting on a target to show. Blending in, taking the shot, then running was far too ease here. Adding in the constant corporate warfare and local factions feuding made it ripe with jobs too. Everyone always had someone they wanted to see turned into skag chow.
Today's task was different from her usual jobs. Roland had to call it in as a favor more or less. Going against Hyperion drug up memories she wanted to stay buried. The constant clanging of his voice in the area helped even less. Compounded by the fact she knew nothing of the full objective made her want to rabbit. But, Roland asked her as a favor and she trusted Roland...she had to. He was one of the good ones on this planet.
Ready, Pudge? she nudged against her constant companion's mind. He had placed himself across from her perch but ahead in case she needed the jump spot. I see incoming and you know it's gonna bring Loaders and Constructors. He never was good about fighting without his toys.
Pudge brushed an eye roll against her mind bringing a smile beneath her mask. Much like his partner, he preferred going up against Hyperion Personnel instead of metal machines. Something about them inorganic feel rubbed them both the wrong way.
The first loaders dropped as she laid down fire. Pinpoint perfect shots aiming for optics while corrosive damage did the rest. "It's showtime."
