My first time at Starbucks.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know, right. But my hometown just got it’s first Starbucks about a month ago.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No, I’m not there. In Owen Sound I go to @frogpondscafe because it’s walking distance to my home and they know me.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Seriously. Once I was meeting a client there, who was going to be late. He’d forgotten my cell phone number so he called the coffee shop.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I’m meeting a woman there and I’m going to be late.”   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Oh yeah, Andrea’s here. I’ll let her know.”   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love having a home base where everyone knows your name.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I’m on the road right now, spending a few days at my sister’s cottage. We’ve mostly been relaxing but I needed wifi, thus a trip into town to my first Starbucks.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They joys of being an entrepreneur is I can take an impromptu vacation and as long as I have my cell phone and laptop I can still keep the business going.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people might moan “oh, you’re working all the time” but that’s not true. Yes, some days I work long hours. Some days I’m answering emails to responding to comments on social media while I watch the Jays game.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But other times, like this week, I can take off, have some quality family time and still get some work done. Sure, next week I’ll probably have to put in longer hours to make up for the time I took off this week, but I think it’s worth it.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s about having a plan and implementing the plan.
