not used to having a “blog” ever - but i will persist, sporadically
these have been the past couple of months for me: new home, ever shifting job situations, recluse vs. necessarily outgoing; mostly going to therapy and working on that in addition to trying to make money and that is actually all i have the energy for. just joined PS1 up in avondale: https://pumpingstationone.org/ - check it out, i am equal parts excited and nervous and uncontrollably jazzed but after the open house/joining session last night i went back to ian’s house and had so many feelings i couldn’t articulate i turned on my new radio and danced (read: laid horizontal on ian’s bed and dramatically waved my arms and legs in the air) to this music that was what was on the classical station: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7eZrz2Zmec
otherwise, either my phone is dying perhaps for good or the heat is getting to everyone and everything; pgh in august perhaps, maybe philly too; i like raspberries; it is summer in the nice way right now and things are “okay” (read: good, just don’t jinx it)
- a demon from the book i debuted at CAKE this year: “DEMONS” about my belief in them and what that looks like. will be the beginning of a series; i made buttons at my workplace, https://www.busybeaver.net/ of this guy in particular as well as a few others
- left, Robert Mapplethorpe, Untitled, (Judy Linn), 1974; postcard from LACMA
- right, my mother, approx. 1993 with her first cat, Groovy, and a self-portrait by/of my father
- one of many collages made during the time i worked at IRFM (institutional resource facilities management) at SAIC a few years ago now, just found this and scanned it while unpacking at my new house infinitely
- new bedroom in new house, http://ballroomprojects.tumblr.com/
- CAKE makeshift business cards
- this sick as fuckin boss ass holy shit motherfuckin amazing painting from 1990 at the kerry james marshall show, “when frustration threatens desire”
- me standing at the farthest west i’ve ever been, on the fucking west coast, finally, at the pacific ocean, santa monica beach, this past may, where i might move to next year with ian, idk, don’t tell anyone
now that i look at it it looks busy. i guess that’s the point of doing this
