Today, I had the daunting task of Sharpie removal. I'd recently acquired some old hardware, as well as some accessories for it, and it worked great. However, it was old, and the previous owner had marked up all kinds of things all over it. I get really bothered over things like that... so what did I do?
I looked at all the markings and said "You're history."
Truth be told, I had no idea how I was gonna do it. I would assume that these marks were made years ago... at least 6 or 7. I didn't wanna ruin the surface, so sandpaper wasn't an option. Rubbing alcohol also didn't work, so I was a bit worried.
However, after reading a ton of reviews, I noticed that there were always one or two people who piped in "Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser."
These people didn't often spell that well, and it never got any detailed feedback about how to use it correctly (yes, it's a sponge). I wasn't too thrilled with it, but I went out and got two. (Extra Power, or course. For this was no mere mark removal).
After returning home, I set out my hardware, and got out an old, ragged towel. I wet my eraser, and got to scrubbing the plastic surface.
About an hour later, two completely obliterated Magic Erasers, and a very swollen hand... I did it. The sharpie was all but completely gone. It was the farthest thing from easy, but it worked. I had given my new playthings a clean start, and they could start over as mine.
So, from this day forth, I declare Mr. Clean Magic Erasers (Extra Power) to be among some of the greatest cleaning devices that man has ever had the absolute genius to ever bring into this world. I will stand by them as being an unstoppable force of power and victory, and refer anyone to them who is in needs something a little stronger than just a spray bottle and a rag for whatever daunting cleaning task lies ahead of them.
