Tagged by Julystorms :) Changed it to anime/manga (oops hope that’s ok lol) cause I’ve seen pieces of them and then read other pieces…idk. Anyways, um…yeah, like July, I’m kinda stretching some of these, but here goes.
Skip Beat, or rather its heroine Kyoko Mogami, is a big inspiration to me. Kyoko is a hard worker, even on things she’s not good at. She’s helpful and kind and isn’t too proud to apologize when she messes up. I don’t connect with a lot of female characters but I love her to death <3
SnK just HAD to be on here didn’t it :3 One thing July and I have appreciated time and time again about SnK is how different all the characters look. They are all unique; it’s like looking at a real world full of real people. It’s taught me a lot art-wise about not making all my characters carbon copies of each other. Plus the whole series is a huge mindscrew that makes you think. REALLY HARD. Which is good, except when it makes my head hurt.
This one was tricky. You can’t tell, but I actually skipped this one and wrote all the way to Rurouni Kenshin before I could nail down what exactly it was that I learned from Naruto. Which is, don’t give up on people even when they seem hopeless/like a lost cause. You may be the only person who tries to reach out to them. All things must be done in moderation, so you shouldn’t force yourself to deal with toxic people; but if we all gave up on broken people thinking “somone else will do it”, they’ll never, um, be saved. (My line of thought ran away before I could finish XD ) Unconditional (or even semi-conditional lol) love can do a lot for people.
Something I learned from Bleach is to never let other people’s opinions or decisions keep you from helping those you love. Time and again people have tried to talk Ichigo out of helping Rukia, or tried to talk the both of them out of trying to save Orihime. They couldn’t seen a happy ending, so they didn’t even try. But those two (and friends like Ishida and Chad, one of whom was under pressure from family to not help) never stopped trying. Even when it looked like Orihime had betrayed them, they still took their friend’s side. And guess what? It all worked out. I guess another lesson is don’t stop striving even when it seems hopeless.
Gosh all these deep life lessons XD Okay what did One Piece teach me… Even when people you love try to drive you away, saying they don’t want/need your help, you should always be willing to support/help them because they might need you even if they say they don’t.
Hmm dunno how to put FMA into a life lesson per say, but it was an interesting observation on the harm prejudice and racism causes. And how important people who can look past outer differences and see the human beings underneath are. I mean, Olivier chose not to discriminate against certain of her men for their race, and as a result SHE ended up with all the kick-butt Ishbalan warriors XD Also there were some good lessons on forgiveness. Like, if possible, try to forgive people, even if they’re done horrible things to you, because you never know when your example may turn them around. Not saying you should excuse or condone their behavior, but don’t beat them over the head with it. Let them know that what they did was wrong, but also help them be better. Like the saying, “hate the sin, not the sinner”.
My Ruro Ken life lesson is basically the premise of the whole series XD You can be a strong person and a respected/listened-to leader without using force. And only fight when you have to..?? Both of which are rendered kinda moot considering Kenshin is always forced to fight and always has to resort to force to stop the bad guys. Oops. Whatever. Basically focus on helping people and try to use words instead of force when possible. When that fails, beat/disarm them so they can’t harm anyone else and then show them the error of their ways XD
Um okay… D. Gray Man is a hard one. But basically I think of a quote I actually found here on Tumblr. “If you meet enemies, you know you’re going the right way.” At least one of every two souls in each Akuma is innocent. They didn’t ask to be brought back and made into a monster. Most or all of the people who brought them back are, too. They didn’t know any better. They’re just broken-hearted people who were manipulated by an evil person. So really Allen is doing the right thing by trying to save them. But the rest of the Order doesn’t see it that way. People are pressuring him to stop doing the right thing, telling him it’s only going to mean trouble for him, but he believes in what he’s doing and doesn’t give up. So basically if you’re doing the right thing, people are going to try to talk you out of it but don’t let them. Keep on doing what you’re doing and the people who really matter, who really have your back, will support you. *eyes Kanda and Johnny* *eyes Lenalee and Marie* *eyes the whole Science Division* You lousy traitors all know who you are.
Frick this part didn’t save. Now I gotta write it all over again. *throws phone* Fushigi Yuugi is a reaaally hard one to do. Kinda falls along the lines of FMA; it has some good observations on good character traits and um…stuff. Yeah. …..Ok. Like Miaka thinks she’s been raped at one point, and thinks she’s dirty and that Tamehome won’t love her anymore. But he loves her anyway, and it’s not like it’s her fault. Imho if he had blamed her for that he never deserved to have her in the first place. Which he didn’t, so that’s neither here nor there. Yui says and does some terrible things, but Miaka continues to love her and try to save her. Her kindness even turns one of the enemy warriors to their side. I was gonna touch on the theme of “sacrifice for loved ones”, but then I remembered that that would mean talking about Noriko’s sacrifice, and I really don’t feel like crying right now. And if you force me to talk about THAT scene, that’s most likely what’ll happen :/ So either you know what I’m talking about, or you can read it for yourself.
Okay Death Note life lessons can also basically be summed up by the premise of the whole show. One, don’t try to play God. It has a tendency to end badly. Very badly. Two, if the whole world says you’re doing something wrong, please consider that they may be right (lmao). And um the point I really wanted to make: even people who try to do the right thing may end up doing the wrong thing. Also, the end does not always justify the means. If you use bad or cruel tactics to accomplish a good thing, I can almost guarantee you that people will not remember the good thing you accomplished. They will only remember the horrible things you did to get there. I think of what I always heard about Vlad the Impaler. He was actually a good person who was just trying to protect his people. He used really gruesome tactics to intimidate people into not attacking his people, but in the end all people remember him for is all the blood that was shed and how he impaled people and sorta stuck them out like trophies. (Hopefully I remembered all that correctly.)
And um yes that is my list. Gosh give me a simple prompt and watch me write a goshdarned essay. Holy nerd alert Batman O_o Thank you, though, July; this was a lot of fun! Though my brain kinda hurts a little now XD (Also please teach me how to tag people in posts cause I don't know how :c ) Um idk who to tag I don't know 10 people on here well enough to do that soo...I'll tag Wan and Cake. (You two totally don't have to if you don't want. ) Anyone else who wants to can do it and say I tagged you :) //passes out
