i should point out that most of Dumpy Trumple's executive orders from 2017-2021 have either been overturned by the courts or are still in litigation.

The executive order is not a magical document that immediately undoes laws or enacts constitutional amendments. Neither is it a shortcut to get around the legislative procedure. It's a statement of intent and nothing more.

#torn between don't like it and nuanced chose don't like it but here's my nuance #source: I'm an ace who reads a lot of smut now but I'm personally also highly sex repulsed #so it used to be that I would enjoy fics up thru the foreplay stage but once it hit actual sex or description of body parts #I'd become extremely repulsed and have to quit the fic #I can read some really graphic smut nowadays without batting an eye #but it took a /lot/ of gradually building up to that point and being very specific abt what tropes + scenarios I read #(you should be doing that anyways - curate your personal spaces)#I like to joke that I exposure therapy'd my way into being fine reading smut #(a personal joke that I can make abt myself bcus I'm the ace in question -#if u ever make a joke abt exposure/rape therapy actually working to “”cure“” asexuality I'll break your fucking kneecaps and then your jaw)#but the point is that I used to not be able to read smut basically at all. and I had friends who knew that #my best friend since middle school; bless her; warns me to this day abt sex in her stories when she shares them w/ me #in case I want to skip those parts #and I do not hold that against her. I think it's sweet that she's cognizant enough of my sexuality to remember it + and be respectful of it #my other best friend; for example; has a friend who's also extremely repulsed to the point that he doesn't want to hear anything abt sex #including hearing what characters friends are horny abt #for some of us any mention of sex is actually “unfriendly”/makes for a very uncomfortable space for us #but that is a thing that needs to be determined on an individual basis because we do not all experience asexuality the same #and this is where I have my problems with tagging a no sex fic as “ace friendly”#and why - while I don't hold my friend's constant content warnings against her - I did get a little frustrated with her for a while #when I had told her several times that it didn't bother me anymore and it didn't feel like she listened #because to tag a fic w/ no sex as “ace friendly” like you're tagging for an allergy feels kind of infantilizing #like you're assuming all aces are so sex repulsed that we can't read smut or we'll die #like you think none of us can handle or that none of us /enjoy/ it #like we all know that sexuality is a spectrum right?? we all remember that??#aces can have sex drives aces can even have interest in/a high enjoyment of sex itself #we just don't feel any sexual attraction /to other people/#and even that is a spectrum bcus you have people like demis and gray aces!#also beloved mutual in prev tags said that they guarantee that some fics tagged “ace friendly”#//tumblr was a bitch and deleted a third of my tags so off to a follow up post I go ig jskdh
