The National Park Service is looking for comments from the public in regards to the Trump arch being planned for DC.
"WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The National Park Service is seeking public input on a report examining the potential effects of President Donald Trump’s proposed 250-foot-tall arch.

As part of the park service’s responsibilities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the agency evaluated the possible impacts of the proposed Triumphal Arch and associated improvements on historic properties in the area, including the Lincoln Memorial, the National Mall and parts of the Memorial Avenue Corridor. Now, from June 5 through June 15, the NPS is seeking feedback on the report and the arch’s potential effects. To review the report and submit a comment, click here. Comments can also be submitted through email at [email protected]. The park service noted that information from all commenters — including addresses, phone numbers and email addresses — may be made publicly available." Source: DC News Now
The comment period is from June 5 to June 15 (6/5/26 - 6/15/26), so roughly a week and a half to weigh in. If you're a US Citizen and have some opinions about these projects, feel free to send them your thoughts.
Transphobia is so antithetical to genuine feminism it blows my mind there's such a wide overlap like you either believe in autonomy and self determination or you don't
hi trans indigenous people I love you
hi indigenous people who don't identify with the label trans because you exist outside of the Western gender binary I love you
ive said this before but it was on my old blog so I'm saying it again
dehumanizing abusers is not effective at doing anything other than make people think they're ontologically incapable of violence
it's also creating a class of people who you can abuse while telling yourself that you're Good and Moral and Not an Abuser.
if you dehumanize the caught abusers then the uncaught abusers will use their humanity as proof of innocence
if you dehumanize the hypothetical abusers you create incentives for false accusations as a means of dehumanization whenever dehumanization is desired for other reasons
every major structural social problem right now is basically "we don't have enough skilled workers on the ground" and the reason is always "well we've been intentionally underpaying and understaffng them for decades to increase corporate profits" and somehow the news always just mentions the "shortage" without digging into the cause
air travel is a mess? shortage of air traffic controllers - for some mysterious reason
logistics a mess? shortage of truck drivers - for some mysterious reason
public transit can't meet demand? shortage of bus drivers - for some mysterious reason
We even mysteriously have shortages of doctors, nurses, teachers... FOR SOME MYSTERIOUS REASON
FUCKING PAY PEOPLE AND HIRE ENOUGH STAFF
Yes and: Make education more affordable and achievable!!
The destruction of public and higher education and the degradation and subjugation of workers has been an active part of conservative policy for more than fifty years.
Related: when conservatives say "no one wants to work anymore", what they mean is "no one wants to give up a substantial portion of the fruits of their labor in order to enrich an idle capital-holding class".
Oh please let Grammarly get sued into oblivion
How the hell they greenlighted that. How there is no one there with a minimum of common sense to shout that this was going to be the outcome. How their legal department didn't murder every single engineer to prevent this from shipping
"We take criticism seriously" obviously you do not.
Too late for a "whoopsie, our bad", fuckers.
Superhuman, the tech company behind the writing software Grammarly, is facing a class action lawsuit over an AI tool that presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academics—none of whom consented to have their names appear within the product.
Julia Angwin, an award-winning investigative journalist who founded The Markup, a nonprofit news organization that covers the impact of technology on society, is the only named plaintiff in the suit, which does not call for a specific amount in damages but argues that damages across the plaintiff class are in excess of $5 million. She was among the many individuals, alongside Stephen King and Neil deGrasse Tyson, offered up via Grammarly’s “Expert Review” tool as a kind of virtual editor for users.
Imagine being a product manager in grammarly and going like "fuck yeah, we are going to add a a Stephen King agent to our product" without immediately having a little part of your brain that goes "uh the dude probably has enough money to buy our entire company three times over, and he could field an army of lawyers against us for using his name without his permission".
Imagine being so full of yourself that you think you can just use the literal most successful author alive's name without his consent.
Holy fuck.
Superhuman CEO Shishir Mehrotra responds to the Grammarly “expert review” controversy, and whether AI is extracting more value than it creat
One thing about these AI tech bro ceos, they have no concept of shutting the fuck up. It is almost impressive.
READ THIS INTERVIEW! I'm not sure I've ever read a more vicious interview, the journalist does not let up, does not let him get away with nonanswers unchallenged. God how I wish more journalists acted like this in interviews.
Grammarly is being bluntly and forcefully removed from united states .gov computers, starting IMMEDIATELY (26 mar 26).
Source: I got a work email about it half an hour ago.
Every line in this video is iconic
you have to remember it's always always worse on twitter
firm believer you can't be a ''good person''. too much niuance to life.
you can be good (adjective) but you cannot be good (identity)
if you think you are good (identity) you are more likely to cause harm as you don't consider yourself to be capable of it
Verified: Microsoft 365 gets massive 45% price hike — and it's all to do with AI tools (Tom's Guide - January 17, 2025)
oopsie i tripped and spilled my link to archive dot org's downloadable copy of Microsoft office suite for 2007, which features no AI tools and is a powerful word processor that still holds up just fine on windows 10!
Please please please please please please don't install a 2007 out of support microsoft product, just use Libre Office, an open source office suite that gets regular updates and is going to be NOT a massive point of vulnerability on your system.
Also if you get 365 Apps for Business it's the same office products without the AI stuff for about $70 a year.
Remember when Lil Nas X beautifully explored his sexuality, seduced and killed the devil to the banger of all time, and instead of cheering on this openly gay and proud Black artist for his artistry and fighting back against respectability politics, suddenly said respectability politics was all the Queerest Place on the Internet cared about? Hm. Wonder what happened there.
Anyway I miss him and hope he's doing better with his mental health 🙏🏾
Like say what you want about "bad queer representation", but this was the song that made me openly and happily accept that I was bisexual. To see him up there Black and beautiful, making music that I love, absolutely killing it? Yeah. You couldn't tell me shit. This man made me proud to be out. "This will make them think we're evil for being gay" hey newsflash dawg-
Guys, I think this might be more upsetting than chocolate guy.😭
youtube with ublock origin experience of the 20 second gap between every video on a playlist where youtube desperately throws itself against the impervious ever-evolving uncaring face of the adblocker's wall screaming and clawing and calling PLEASE! PLEASE, OUR AD REVENUE!! DON'T YOU WANT TO SUPPORT THIS CREATOR? DO YOU NOT CARE ABOUT OUR WALLETS? AND THEIRS? into the vast and empty sky before the adblocker gently raises one of its many iron-banded arms and flicks youtube away into the void just to hear its wails fade slowly into nothing
It's funny when I get the "You seem to be experiencing interruptions. Find out why" popup as if two unskippable 30-second ads wouldn't feel way more intrusive and annoying than a slight delay for a video to start.
relentlessly funny to me when people treat a relationship between someone in their 30s and someone in their 40s as "age difference". bro i cannot tell you which of my friends are 34 and which are 44. i can probably tell you which ones aren't 30 yet, but it's probable some of them are 50 now and i didn't notice. if you're over 30 and don't have kids, it's kinda all one age until you can collect social security.
