You might be, lmao. It can definitely help with inhibition sometimes, but it’s a comfort thing for most; not a necessity. I know a lot of writers who go out to get a fancy coffee for the same effect, and because they get a nice boost from caffeine, while my shy and sorry butt would get more out of a glass of wine. (But then, if there ever isn’t red table wine in my house for Emergency Marinara Making, that means my husband and I are both so deathly ill that we can’t crawl to the grocery store, and every member of his family is also so deathly ill that they can’t bring any over for a visit. So that might contribute :P.)

Hey @julystorms Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a pretty good show. The first 2.5 seasons are brilliant and then season three has it’s second half…If my saltiness has toned down it’s because I have exactly seven days left in my master’s degree. If anyone knows what I should do with my life please inform me I am lost and confused.

I started watching the show just over a year ago when I was a stressed grad student in my first semester and it was the show I would have needed five years prior. It’s a musical and most of the music was great, the characters felt real and dealt with things such as mental health issues in a way that I had never seen on television before. It was life changing. Not only that, but it was the first fandom/TV show that I really felt like a part of and had expectations for.

The first half to season three was mostly good, too much Nathaniel and not enough Valencia for my liking. Then the second half of season three happened and I just really didn’t like the direction they went with the show and which characters they focused on vs on who they didn’t and there were a lot of tone deaf implications especially in the final few episodes. I was salty for a while but I’ve lost my enthusiasm for the show and don’t trust the showrunners and their vision for the last season anymore. I feel about it how Valencia felt about Rebecca and Josh getting married. I’ll probably still watch season four and listen to the songs, parts of the show I still love and I will continue my fan fiction. But I’m not super enthusiastic anymore. I don’t have the energy to be salty anymore. I want to find other fandoms and figure my life out.

Honestly, “Drink Your Glasses Empty” was written to be explicable even to people who have never touched Thracia 776, because realistically speaking who the hell has? It’s the story of two friends across 20 years, and really that’s that. Likewise I think “A Knight In Reverse” stands on its own merits without people really knowing much about the Marth games, which is part of why I love both stories as much as I do.

Though in sheer terms of writing, I am pretty #$%^ing proud of “Tir na Nog.”

I feel as you do about Rosemary. I'm tired of her always being the butt of a joke, and I'm pretty sick of the sniping between supposed friends in this series. It wasn't bad when they were just getting to know each other but by the point of Rosie being in Elizabeth's wedding it just feels cruel? P:

It doesn’t surprise me, unfortunately. Elizabeth is not all that nice. There’s still a lot of snotty, entitled Hamilton rich girl left in her. She’s sort of brought that out in Jack too. It really rubbed me the wrong way how entitled they felt about their wedding and how it was going to save the town from the bank crisis (what?????). Get over yourselves. Also, Jack loved Rosemary. They were engaged. Let’s not forget that. They’ve had really sweet scenes in the past but now it feels kind of different. I don’t know. Everything thinks these characters are so pure and wholesome but they’re not. It’s okay that they’re not but let’s acknowledge the flaws. The problem, in my opinion, is that Elizabeth is presented as ~not flawed~.

I know people won’t like this opinion but whatever. Yet again, let me state that me not liking something has zero impact on you liking it. It’s called an opinion and we all have them. It’s cool. Manna (julystorms) and I like very few of the same characters (she likes Bill??? why??? haha) and it’s fine. It’ll all be okay. Turn your anger to the show, not me.
