Actually fuming at the experience I just had at uni

Me: the movie alien is a metaphor for rape

Male classmate: I don’t believe that

Me: well yk phallic imagery is invoked by the alien’s design, its attacks on the human crew involve oral penetration. The alien’s attack results in the irreversible damage of a human body through the birth of the attacker’s offspring. Etc etc

Male classmate: oh I see some similarities now, but I don’t think the director actually intended it and you’re just looking too far into it

And at that point I was so fucking done I just. Stopped talking. Pulled up articles on Google showing that the director VERY well intended all of that messaging and more

Male classmate: oh…

Bearing in mind I was the ONLY one in the group to actually do the homework and knew wtf I was talking about (and also the only non-man in the group)

Been writing for a new fandom so figured I might try my hand at a fic masterpost/introduction

Witch Hat Atelier

Material Girls: gen character study; each of the members of the atelier get a little shopping trip to themselves. Fluff with a dash of angst.

Common Ground: gen adventure focusing on the dynamic between a young Easthies and Qifrey as they're forced on a playdate together. Humor and slight character study.

the letters and lies we bestow: orufrey, half-epistolary, half-vignettes of the messages shared during Qifrey's travels, and the reveal of which lies those letters held. Angst with a hopeful ending.

The Wise and the Torch: orufrey and arcko canon-divergence AU in which the pact of pain was not upheld and Qifrey and Olruggio have both reached fame and success, but at the cost of being unable to be together. Due to reasons explained here, I am not posting this on ao3, so congrats, you've found the only existing link to the first part of this fic. Bright One, Make It Real: orufrey time loop fic, inspired by In Stars and Time. Heavy heavy angst, focus on mental illness struggles.
