Do you think the White Star actually likes the aspect of Cale being his fated enemy?
the White Star is an existence that will never truly "die". Anyone he has ever known will eventually leave him behind. There is no one and nothing he is allowed to like because the moment he does it, that person or thing will disappear. There is no safe space for the White Star.
And then there's Cale, whom White Star thinks has been planning to kiII him for centuries. It's a messed up connection, but it's still a connection nevertheless. Something the White Star was never able to have.
