As promised, here’s a little introduction post for Davrin and Tamryn’s kiddos, Nelowen and Caleb!
Despite being good with kids, Tamryn and Davrin don't really have the expectation that they'll ever become parents themselves. But about three years after defeating the gods, fate has other plans in store for them and they become the proud fathers of Nelowen Elwina Thorne. While staying in one place is not really their style, they spend the first few months of Nelowen's life in Vhenmarch, near Tamryn's family. The itch to travel doesn't leave them however, and once Nel is a little bigger, they hit the road again, this time as a family of four.
About two years after that, on a rainy evening on the outskirts of Minrathous, Davrin and Tamryn suddenly find themselves being robbed by a clever little pickpocket. Sensing magic, Tamryn goes in pursuit, managing to corner his target in an alley. It turns out their thief is an eight-year-old human boy, who has been using magic to survive on scraps. Unable to leave the kid behind like this, Tamryn convinces him that he means no harm, offering him food and shelter for the night. He and Davrin decide that it's probably best if they bring the child, Caleb, to the Shadow Dragons. But as they discuss the matter with Tarquin and Ashur the following day, they can't help but be enamored by how Caleb seems to enjoy entertaining their now two-year-old daughter. Only needing some eye-contact between them, the decision is then made. Caleb will stay with them.
While Nelowen definitely takes after Davrin with her stubborness and Tamryn with her impulsiveness and sense of humor, Caleb is a much quieter child. He prefers reading and will observe first before trying something new. Despite the different dynamics, Davrin and Tamryn make it work though, and they’re very happy with their chaotic little family :)
