Can you please explain to me who ruby and her husband are. I am guessing they came after Ryan left. I don’t remember them at all.

Yes they came in later.

Caleb showed up at the end of 2022. He's the long lost retconned son of Faith and Frank Tate for some reason. He's Cain and Chas's half brother. He's Noah and Joe's half uncle. He showed up when Cain got arrested for killing Al after Chas had an affair with him. It was really Kyle that shot him and Cain was just trying to save his son. So Caleb, who has lots of plot money, helped them out with fancy lawyers. Then later we learned that he was also trying to scam Kim along with his son Nicky, who he had pose as a nanny for Gabby and Dawn's kids, which involved poor gay Nicky having to fake a relationship with Gabby almost all the way down the aisle before he bailed. Anyway, Kim won because she always wins.

Caleb bought the Mill from Vinny after Liv died. He was supposedly getting a divorce from Ruby when he showed up and he had a random relationship with Leyla and then an affair with Tracy that made zero sense.

Ruby finally showed up in January 2024. She was a lot when she first showed up. I'm still working my way through that in my catch up. But she and Caleb seem just as toxically codependent as Robron in a lot of ways but possibly even more of a disaster. But they're great.

Late last year, her evil father, Anthony, showed up. He raped Ruby when she was younger cause this show loves a rape story. This resulted in her getting pregnant with Steph, her daughter who grew up thinking Caleb was her dad and so did he. Aaron got involved when he figured out Anthony had abused her. He beat the hell out of Anthony, thinking he'd killed him and John helped him get rid of the body. Later it was revealed that Ruby actually killed him. So Ruby, Aaron, John, Caleb, Cain, Chas, Steph and Moira are all in on this secret at this point and John won't tell them where the body is buried.

But anyway, this Anthony story has really brought out the best in Ruby's character and Ruby and Caleb as a couple and they've been possessed by the spirit of Robron in the Mill and are super ride or die for each other and we love that.

Caleb also owns some kind of Depot thing in the village that has a set now. Jai, Steph, Billy and Kerry work there. I believe they use Home James Haulage trucks for deliveries maybe. Still fuzzy on that.
