I think that my cats love it when I eat an edible cause then I get really focused on petting them indefinitely. Some of them like ear rubs, some like back massages, some like head scratches, and if you know exactly what the cat likes, you can just keep petting them indefinitely. Its perfect. The cat will tell you to fuck off when you're done. The best part is that I have 6 cats. I can pet them all. Noodle usually doesn't want attention but I did it just now because she needs to know I love her. Mostly she likes pets around the head/face/neck. She is the shyest kitty. Tiny. Calico. I can tell her apart from Pasta cause she has pure solid black fur on most of her face, with some brown/orange in the bottom corner of her face like a little sunset. Pasta has mostly brown on her face.

I was going to post, but figured I could take a picture of Noodle, cause she is right next to where I am sitting. I got the photo via just making clicking noises and she posed for me. Also I gave her a quick head scritch (she didn't want me to do that, so it was a quick one cause I stopped when she asked me to). Then she went back to her nap. She was more curious about me getting her attention than wanting attention herself. So she's napping now, and I'm posting this, so that was our brief transaction.
