What I love about the main three couples that Joshua Jackson is part of (Pacey & Joey, Peter & Olivia, and Cole & Alison) is how different each couple is. Each couple is so different and everyone may have their own pecking order but at the end of the day they’re all so special and fun for different reasons.
Pacey and Joey definitely have their fair share of angsty moments and plotlines but by and large I view them as a more playful and carefree couple. They also have that Romeo and Juliet type of dynamic in S3 that is so irresistible. The forbidden love trope gives me such a buzz. Pacey and Joey seem to have every trope wrapped up into their relationship from frenemies to lovers to forbidden lovers and every trope in between.
Peter and Olivia are incredibly epic. Words can’t describe their relationship and i’m afraid I won’t do them justice. Polivia are the definition of soulmates. I’ve never seen a TV couple that went so gun ho into the whole concept of soulmatism. From meeting when they were children and coincidentally reconnecting as adults, to being erased from a universe but not being able to be erased because their love was too strong. Polivia is one of those couples who I could never see breaking up. They have such a concrete strong relationship that has only becomes stronger the more adversity they go through. They are the definition of love and dedication.
Cole and Alison is such a tragic relationship. The way they ended was so unfair.... they truly deserved better. I don’t have too much to say about Calison but Josh’s chemistry with Ruth is amazing as is his chemistry with every other person he acts with. Something I love about Calison and I don’t feel like they go too much into it... they were childhood sweethearts and they know each other better than anyone else. Which is maybe the only trope that all Josh’s onscreen relationships follow. Polivia weren’t childhood sweethearts but they did know each other as children and they know each other better than anyone else. Of course Jacey follows that trope to a tee as well.
General notes: Alison goes to Caleb’s apartment in search of comfort after -A attempts to mess up their relationships.

Alison "Freaking -A," Alison muttered to herself as she got out of her car that night, looking around her to check out her surroundings as she locked her car. She didn't see any suspicious cars or people looking around so maybe -A hadn't followed her there. She hoped not, at the very least. Alison knew she probably looked like crap (at least by Ali-standards) with her hair thrown up in a messy bun, wearing a sweatshirt and jeans and her slip-on shoes, but she was too upset to care. Alison hurried up to Caleb's apartment, knocking on the door and waiting for him to answer. "Caleb, it's me," she murmured, checking her phone in hopes that Emily had texted her back but being unsurprised to see that she hadn't.
Caleb rushed around his apartment, trying to clean up as much as he could before Alison had the chance to see the pigsty. He'd been too busy with work and trying to figure out different ways they could catch -A to care about the cleanliness of the loft. A million thoughts raced through his head as he tried to think of a way he could explain all of this to Hanna if she were to find out about Alison coming over. He had an excuse to use for all of the other girls, but he hadn't thought of one for the blonde quite yet. Maybe it was because he hoped that it wouldn't come down to this. As he was throwing the last of the garbage in the bin, he heard a knock on the door and Alison's voice coming from the hall. "Hold on," He answered, rushing over to the door and opening it, then stepping aside to let her in. "I'm sorry for the mess. I tried cleaning it the best I could." Once the door was shut, he ran a hand through his hair then crossed his arms over his chest. "Do you think -A followed you here?"
Alison "No problem." Alison shrugged her shoulders, not really caring about the state of Caleb's apartment. Especially considering the situation they were in at the moment. "I looked around and didn't see anybody, so hopefully we'll be okay," she sighed, walking over to the couch and sitting down on it uninvited. She frowned at him, feeling a little bad for everything that was happening between her and Emily and surely him and Hanna once the other blonde was caught up on everything. Alison winced just imagining it- Hanna could get pretty out-of-control when she was angry. "How are we gonna prove ourselves to them?" she sighed, looking over at Caleb. "Emily and Hanna. I don't want that bitch to take anymore from us than she already has."
Caleb's eyes followed Alison as she made her way over to the couch, and he couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when she reassured him that she didn’t see anyone suspicious outside when she arrived. He knew that there could still be a possibility, but he didn’t want to worry about it at the moment. It was when he noticed her demeanor change that he decided to go over and sit next to her, sensing that she probably needed some comfort considering the stunt –A had pulled earlier that day. “Well,” He started, “I’m not too sure what I could say to Hanna, but I’m sure we’ll be able to convince Emily that you’re helping me try to find an apartment. There’s a lot of reasons why I would choose you.” Caleb looked over at her, trying to read the expression on her face before he continued. “For one, I know that you can keep a secret… And you and Hanna seem to have the same taste, so it would make sense why I would ask for your opinion.”
Alison "Yeah... I probably can," Alison sighed, the question that had been lingering in her ever since her and Emily's argument just waiting to come out. How could Emily even think for a second that she would cheat on her? Alison wasn't the most trustworthy person in general, but she had never given Emily a reason to doubt her. "She should trust me," Alison muttered finally, looking down at her shoes as a pinkish tint colored her pale cheeks. "But we could tell Hanna that I was helping you with homework. That huge essay for English? I was just tutoring you because you were confused by the plot."
Caleb “Yeah,” He nodded, “We could probably use that as an excuse.” Caleb couldn’t help but let out a little laugh, knowing that he most likely wasn’t going to finish that assignment. He just figured he would make up some lame excuse for not going to school that day so he wouldn’t be questioned by the blonde about why he didn’t turn it in. “She’ll probably ask why I didn’t tell her, but I’ll just say that I ran into you at the brew and we ended up talking about it or something.”
Alison "Okay, sounds good," she agreed with a nod of her head, just hoping that Emily and Hanna wouldn't talk to each other about it and expose Caleb and Alison's lies. Alison supposed that she could convince Emily not to say anything about it to Hanna because Caleb wanted the apartment in New York to be a surprise, and they could come up with a different way to convince Hanna to stay quiet, too. "Okay," she murmured again, looking over at him. "Do you really think they'll buy those excuses? Because Emily's already pissed as hell at me and it won't be long until Hanna's the same with you."
Caleb “Well,” He started, rubbing the back of his neck with one of his hands as the anxiety of having to keep up with all of the lies started to get to him. “I don’t see why they wouldn’t. As long as we’re able to convince Emily that you’re trying to help me look for an apartment, I’m sure she’ll understand why we’d have to lie to Hanna and tell her that you were helping me with an English assignment instead.” Caleb took a deep breath as he glanced over at the blonde beside him, wishing that they weren’t in this position. Lying to his girlfriend wasn’t something that he hoped he would ever have to do, but he knew that he had to in order to protect her. “If it comes down to it, I’ll take the blame for all of this. I’ll say that it was my idea to plot something against –A, and I convinced you to help me and keep it a secret from everyone. You and Emily have been through enough already, and I’m sure Hanna would forgive me for it eventually.”
Alison listened as Caleb talked, nodding her head soundly. "Okay, okay... yeah, I'm sure Emily will be willing to keep it a secret if we tell her that," Alison said. A weird feeling settled in her stomach, a feeling of guilt for lying to her girlfriend (even if Alison was an expert liar and normally felt no remorse for it) but Alison attempted to push that away. This was for Emily's own good, after all. "We'll be fine eventually. Emily loves me, and Hanna loves you... that's enough to trump over whatever rumors they hear, right?"
Caleb “You’re right, they do love us and I’d hope that would be enough.” Caleb spoke softly, still keeping his gaze on her features. It was obvious that she was just as anxious about this as he was by the uncertainty in her eyes and the uneasy tone in her voice, and he couldn’t help but instinctively put his arm around the blonde in hopes to comfort her a little. “I’m sure Emily and Hanna will understand when all of this is over and –A’s finally locked up in prison.”
Alison She gave him a little smile as he put his arm around her to comfort, angrily wiping at her moist eyes and cursing herself for showing emotion. "Yeah, they will... and that day can't come soon enough," she said with a sigh and then snapped to attention when she heard the crunching of leaves outside. "Did you hear that?"
Caleb “Hear what?” He asked, turning his head in the direction she was looking and noticed a slight movement outside of the window. His heart started to pound in his chest when he realized that he hadn’t closed the blinds, and that there was a huge possibility that –A could have been watching them the whole time. “Dammit,” He muttered, retracting his arm from around the blonde and rushing over to the window, “Do you think –A saw us?”
Alison "Heard that," she hissed angrily, the two pulling away from each other immediately as if they had been burned. "I think it's safe to assume that yes, they did," she groaned, putting a hand to her face. "As if we didn't have enough problems already, huh?"
Caleb “Maybe you should text Emily to let her know what happened before –A has the chance to get to her first,” Caleb said anxiously, walking back over to where Alison was standing, “Just tell her the truth – that you came over because you were worried about your relationship… Tell her that it wasn’t what it looked like and that I was only trying to comfort you.”
Alison "Look, I appreciate the advice but I can't," Alison told him, glancing down at her phone. "Maybe it really was nothing," she murmured. "And if I talk to Emily now and -A doesn't it'll look bad. Like I have a guilty conscience or something."
Caleb “I guess you’re right,” Caleb agreed, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked away. “Maybe we’re just being paranoid.” He knew that there was a huge possibility that –A was outside of his window, and that they really were being watched the whole time, but he hoped he was wrong. “But I’m sorry,” He spoke softly, “I shouldn’t have put my arm around you.”
Alison "Don't worry about it," she murmured with a shrug and a faint smile. "The only thing we need to worry about is -A. What does this person want? Are they looking for revenge like Mona was? Once we figure out a motive we can get a set list of suspects."
Caleb “I guess we’ll have to try to come up with a plan to figure out what they’re trying to accomplish by torturing you guys,” Caleb said, glancing back up at her, “But it’s probably best if we talk about it another night. The longer you’re here, the more leverage -A has over us to make this whole thing seem like something it’s not."
Alison "Yeah, I suppose you're right," Alison sighed, slowly standing up. She grabbed her keys, holding them carefully so that she could use them as a sort of weapon if -A was really there and jumped on her once she had gotten out to the parking lot, and she grabbed her purse. "Well, thank you for letting me come over again."
Caleb “Can I at least walk you to your car?” Caleb hesitantly asked, hoping that she would allow him to make sure that she got there safely. He knew how bad it would probably look for them to be seen walking out of the building together, but he didn’t care. He didn’t want to risk something happening to her.
Alison gave him a careful look, trying to figure out what his angle was- and then she realized that he simply wanted to make sure she got to her car okay, which was admirable in and of itself. If -A manipulated footage of him walking her to her car they'd both be screwed, but he was doing it anyway to make sure she got there okay. "Yeah, thanks."
