i cant believe it took me one (1) year to finish this sketch..... ngl, im pretty proud of it. also i have NO idea how to draw a catfish so like i hope this is recognizable??

this is sort of the area around calium's place--her lusus is limited to freshwater, so the pond near cali's house is where she spends most of her time. so cali comes by to hang often

i had a ton of fun finishing these bad boys! a few panels showing how calium and ennomi meet, following this doodle from forever ago. more info under the cut!

so yeah, cali is just going about her day, headed to her favorite spot on the beach to hang out, maybe set some traps, whatever. and then she spots lil ol' ennomi, who really isn't supposed to be there, and she's like "aw HELL no" and confronts her.

ennomi is pretty spooked and doesn't want to fight, so they end up talking. she tries to convince cali that she isn't a seadweller despite the signs (c'mon, my moms just make me wear this violet symbol, it's totally just a prank!)

anywhom, they get to talking and cali comes to realize, holy cow, she's really not a seadweller. shes actually kind of a weirdo.... stay tuned for the unlikely, thrilling conclusion, folks!

woohoo! it’s finally done. i have to say, i had so much fun with this, but i 100% gave up when it came time to do the faces. this is the final version of the lineup i posted like a week ago! i’m really liking this au.

calium and pazzil are super good friends, and they usually hang out at paz’s place and talk. calium has a huge gay crush on pazzil. but dont tell her that lmao

calium’s favorite thing to do (and probably the most detrimental to her health) is terrorizing seadwellers: setting traps in the sand, vandalizing their stuff... she really despises them.

here she is watching some poor sob who’s stumbled upon one of her traps!

a compilation of some unfinished things that i probably won’t get around to refining? i wanted to post them, though. info below:

1. calium post-swim. not much to say, tbh.

2. i don’t care for how this turned out, but i wanted to draw another fuschia bloodswap similar to the one I did a couple weeks ago. this is like, the furthest from canon you can get bc even if pazzil was born fuschia, the likelihood of her surviving to take the crown is basically 0. she would never kill the opposition and would be an easy target. but what if she did rule? she wouldn’t really wear jewelry or a crown, and she would eliminate the caste system pretty much entirely. anyways enough rambling abt ruler pazzil for now. maybe on a separate post or something.

3. mymire pulling a late day, practically falling asleep on air.

4. i was inspired by a look i saw on a webcomic i read and... this idea just clicked. i have no clue what to do with this design at all. if anything, it might make a good ancestor? the name “The Mourning” came to mind. she probably changed it after the death of a quadrantmate? again, no clue what to do with her.

5. and this is a sort of old piece, and i feel embarrassed to share it. i just really love @ask-the-troll-boys‘ guy dansoz. vanyom sees him and sort of has a love-at-first-sight moment??? because she’s like ‘where is he from? i’ve never seen him in the caverns’ but he’s got a dad vibe to him. obviously she doesn’t know about what he does or anything but i wanted to draw them meeting. also i am really disappointed with how this turned out, but i had just designed vanyom and was still getting the hang of her design. calium loves hanging out at the beach and terrorizing seadwellers she sees. she has a lot of scars from her past endeavors.

pazzil has ptsd from her experiences as an active rebel (i'll talk more about that on a separate post). taking care of her plants is her de-stresser.
