little things add to big things

My last ex-boyfriend finally came out of his gamer shell and went to prom. I want to say that after I came to Christ, I immediately dropped things and memories like this because they were part of the old me, but I realized it wasn't true when I felt my heart drop looking through the pictures on the newsfeed on my wall.

I thought to myself, 'Wow, maybe I've actually really been subconsciously holding on to this kid.'

I jokingly tell people that he had broken up with me because he told me he wouldn't be able to "make time for me over the Internet." Though that is true, and I always tell people that story with a smile, a hint of bitterness had collected every time I told it.

This was no ordinary prom of a high school. It was the prom for the old church I used to attend for socializing. He went with a sister-in-Christ.

Bittersweet.

Unresolved feelings with a resolution.

Oh, dear Jack.

I truly hope you're happy, that those smiles aren't just there because a camera was in front of your face. The smiles I had kept so selfishly to myself when we went out in high school.

I hope you get to meet Him through her.

I hope you meet the love of your life, one that you'd be willing to do anything for.

Even if it means making time for her over the Internet :)
